I like to think of myself as an openminded atheist. I will listen to what others have to say before I disagree or possibly agree with their argument for their religion. I am not one to stomp on what you believe in, but if I disagree there might be a little "stomping", because, well, that's just me disagreeing. Lol. I try to be cooperative and listen. =D

Do you think its possible for you to be converted?
I hate that word. . .
I mean you dont change.
You just believe in something different.

Still, is it possible?

No, I don't believe I can be converted or changed. I am content in my disbelief about a "god"....with an open-mind to what others have to say, but I might disagree just not out loud. I don't want to insult anyone so I will be understanding if we get into further discussions about religion...

I just can't wrap my mind around one supreme being that controls my destiny...I really don't know what else to say, but again, no I don't believe I can be converted or changed. And don't assume I don't have morals, because I do. Not all morals can be taught from the Bible or other religious writings/beliefs in general.

To say something as such, shows close minded.
To believe that morals are only biblical, is contraversial in itself.

Never say never, you mind find a person who can help you place yourself in the thought that there can be a God.
You dont have to wrap your mind around it,
Its called Belief.

You dont see Oxygen, but you believe its there.
There are people who say they can prove its there,
but you cant.

You say you're open minded,
But in reality you arent.
Open minded refers to a chance of seeing the other side.
But you have already stated that you are content.
You my friend are afraid of change.
Afraid of the reality that we are not the center of our universe.

Id rather live to believe there is a God,
To die and find out there is none.
Then the live to believe there is no God,
To die and find out there is one.

There are things out there that we'll never understand,
But its worth giving a try to believe,
cause in the end we know it might turn out for the better.

Umm, can we like not attack each other. Neither of you knows each other in real life so Exile, I find it extremely unfair of you to go attacking Artizt like that. Super not cool.

Artizt stated exactly as you said about morals...I don't think you saw that otherwise you prolly wouldn't have posted that.

And just because someone believes something certain does not make them close minded. I for one don't see me converting to anything else because what I believe is a part of who I am. And I am certainly not going to change just because some new evidence or whatever comes along or because someone is trying to convince me to. It's not going to happen.
It is entirely possible to agree on parts of a belief and totally disagree on another. For example, think of religion and then think of science - and how the Earth came to be. To different view points on an extreme, but both coinciding at the same time.

I totally went off on a tangent there and derived from my exact point, but still. Having an open mind means accepting what others believe but still having your own opinion. Closed mindedness means to not accept what others believe and that you alone are right. Artizt never once said they were right or not willing to listen to other opinions and beliefs.
You specifically stated yourself, a belief is a belief. So don't be twisting some words.

I stated my thought,
that was all.
So dont think about it too hard.
Its easy, we talked about religion and I stated what I thought.

Dont fight for him,
I wasnt attacking him.
I was stating what I thought.
He should come in and post what he thought about my thoughts.

Im in too much pain to argue with you.
So Ill leave it at that.

You know if I were to die and find out that there is a God, I wouldn't have nice words to say to him, but that's just me. You might think differently, Exile, and I am not going to try to tell you that's not right. You have your opinion and I have mine.

I don't think I'm afraid of change. And I don't think you can compare oxygen to the existence of God...that's not plausible because oxygen is supposed to be a natural thing according to science. It's around us and around us is nature...without oxygen most plants would die (as we), but aside from that I don't want to tell you or try to convince you that what you believe is wrong, Exile.

I was just merely replying to this thread at where I stand on religion. I was hesitant about it, but I thought that maybe many of you would hear me out when I said that I was willing to listen to others opinions, but I did warn that if I so felt I might argue a bit. It depends. If don't think I should I will say I am not going to.

I am content at where I am and I am sure anything you tell me about a "god" existing will go ignored especially if I feel it's trying to "convert" me. I don't think I'm lost or in need of help. I am a perfectly sane person with morals that most people would agree with. Just because I might be a little close minded to the possibility of a "divine being" doesn't mean that I am completely.

I'm not here to argue. I was just doing what everyone else was; Stating where they stood on religion and happen to not believe in any...

JJ - I have the right to stand up for whomever and whatever I want. You cannot tell me what to do. I stated my opinion as well so there's no reason for you to counter that. Pain or not. And yes, you did attack. You questioned the character of someone you don't even know, telling them who they are and are not. Please don't ever do that again. It was extremely wrong of you and very rude on your part. I don't think there's anything else to say on that topic, so honestly, leave it alone.

End of thread post. If you need anymore chatting to occur with me take it to comments or PMs. Thank You!!
