Madeline: *sitting under the shade of a tree, writing in a notebook*
Kotitok: *wandering by, sees Madeline* Oh, hello Madeline. I haven't seen you in a while.
Madeline: *looks up from her notebook, slowly smiles* Hello, Kotitok *glow zips around her excitedly* *madeline nods in agreement with Koti* Mhm
Koti: *kind of surprised she spoke without heavy prompting, but is careful not to show it. Walks up to her* Have you been well?
Madeline: *nods, then tilts her head to the side* ... *stands and gently hugs him*
Koti: *eyes grow wide with surprise, then hugs her back* I-it's really good to see you again...
Madeline: *glow zips around Koti's ears* *she pulls back and smiles up at him briefly, nodding*
Koti: *smiles back at her, then gets distracted by the glow. watches it zip around him* I can't tell if it's happy to see me or annoyed at me.
Madeline: *giggles softly* hehe *she bats at the glow and it calms to float above her shoulder* Both
Koti: Well, at least it's not completely annoyed at me. *looks back at Madeline, shuffles his feet uncertainly* So, uh...done anything interesting lately?
Madeline: *shakes her head, then stops and pauses* ... ! *holds up her notebook, on the cover in big fancy calligraphy it reads, "Property of Madeline"* ^^ *she flips a few pages and tries to hand the notebook to him, the page she's turned to contains a character outline for a story*
Koti: Oh, you're righting a story? Cool! *takes the notebook and looks over the outline to see what teh story's about*
Madeline: *nods, smiling. Her tail flips about excitedly as he reads* *the outline contains info about three of the characters as well as some notes which include, "Multiple time periods in one world, all separated and unknown to the others." "A knight finds woman. She wants to go home, then a journey ensues." "Sick mother, child wants to save. Friend offers help. Another journey ensues" "How are the stories intertwined?"*
Koti: *smiles as he reads, then hands the book back when he's done* Sounds fun, good luck with it.
Madeline: *wiggles happily as she takes the notebook back* What have.. *stops and rubs at her cheek* Hmm... What have you been up to?
Koti: *smiles at her, happy to hear her voice* I haven't been doing too much. Mostly just wandering around and exploring the forest.
Madeline: *her tail flips back and forth excitedly* Really? *wide eyed, obviously thinking it's the coolest thing ever*
Koti: *sees her reaction* Would...you want to come with me sometime? To explore?
Madeline: *nods excitedly, then stops and pauses* Mother doesn't let me go out very far by myself.
Koti: *grins* But you won't be by yourself, you'll be with me!
Madeline: *nods, clapping her front paws together* ^w^ mhm!
Koti: *looks up to check how much daylight's left, sees there's hours before sunset* Do you wanna go now, or some other time?
Madeline: *looks up at the sky too* Now *walks up to the tree, notebook in her mouth, places her paws up on the trunk of the tree and stuffs the notebook in a crevice between some branches* ^^ We can go now
Koti: OK! *looks around, then walks off into the forest, looking back to make sure she's following*
Madeline: *watches as he starts off, then quickly follows behind him, glow zipping around excitedly*
Koti: *wonders where to go, then remembers something nearby* There's a stream near here that's nice. *starts heading for it*
Madeline: ^^ *nods and gladly follows him, looking at the trees and brush all around her curiously*
Koti: *trots along, almost gets lost but recognizes an oddly-shaped tree and remembers the way, then trots over a small hill to see the stream at the bottom* There it is!
Madeline: *doesn't notice he almost gets lost, thinking he is the best at finding his way around the forest* ...Ooo *sits at the top of the hill, looking down at the stream* Want... to race down? *she giggles*
Koti: *smiles at her* Sure! Let's go! *starts running down the hill*
Madeline: *grins and runs too, trying her best to keep up, giggling as her glow trails behind her*
Koti: *is running pretty well when he suddenly trips on a rock. he tumbles down the hill and lands with a splash in the stream*
Madeline: *gasps as she watches Koti* 0.0! *dashes down, almost tripping herself and stops right at the edge of the stream* Are... Are you alright Koti? *looks at the water, a little afraid*
Koti: *sits up and shakes his head to get some of the water off. he looks wet and muddy but not too hurt* Yeah, I think I'm alright. *starts splashing water on himself to wash the mud off*
Madeline: o.o *watches him anxiously, her glow floats out to rest on his head*
Koti: *looks up at the glow, practically cross-eyed, then flicks a little water at it*
Madeline: *water splashes, but goes right through the glow, it darts away then swirls around Koti's head* hehehe *madeline giggles*
Koti: *smiles and finishes washing off, then climbs out of the stream and shakes the water out of his fur like a dog* So, wanna explore the stream?
Madeline: *giggles as he shakes water off* hehe ... *looks at him and then the water* Do I have to get in?
Koti: *grins* Of course not! Not unless you want to, anyway. We can always walk along the bank.
Madeline: *bites her lip slightly as she thinks* Um... *dips her paw into the water then pulls it out shaking water off* o.o
Koti: I'm guessing that's a no? Then let's go, the ground near the stream looks nice and dry for as far as I can see. *points beside the stream*
Madeline: *smiles a little and nods, wiping her paw against the grass. stands and takes a small step down the bank of the stream* ^^
Koti: *walks along with her, looking around at the area* Look, dragonflies! *points at a couple insects darting near the surface of the water*
Madeline: *watches the insects, tail twitching excitedly* *glow darts down and chases the dragon flies*
Koti: *giggles as he watches the glow. The dragonflies soon scatter* Aw, guess they got scared or something.
Madeline: *frowns as they fly away* hmm.. *stomps her paw a little and her glow zips back to her to fly around her head*
Koti: *watches for a few moments, and the dragonflies return* They're back! That was quick. Maybe they have a short memory.
Madeline: hehe Maybe *giggles* Funny Kotitok. *moves close to him and paws at, smiling up at him* ^^
Koti: *hesitates a moment, then nuzzles her* By the way, you can call me Koti if you want. Most people do.
Koti: *looks at the water* Dunno, I haven't really tried much. This isn't really deep enough to need swimming in, anyway, you can stand in it just fine.
Madeline: *looks back at him* o.o Oh.... *reaches her front paw into the water then shivers*
Koti: Did you want to go in the water after all, or is it still too cold for you?
Madeline: *looks back at the water* It's not too, too cold... *splashes a little water up at Koti* hehe
Koti: *puts up one paw to keep the water out of his face, but grins, then splashes a little at her*
Madeline: *giggles and tries to block the water, while still trying to splash him, but failing*
Koti: *leans over to splash her again, but slips on the wet bank and falls in, splashing her anyway as he crashes into the water*
Madeline: Ah! *tries to shield her face but fails* >w< Hey! *glow zips down under the water to swirl around Koti while Madeline wipes water from her face, giggling*
Koti: *sits up and shakes his head to get the water out of his ears* I'm not having very much luck at staying dry today, am I? *looks down at the glow swirling under the water* Wow, that looks really cool! I bet it'd look amazing darting around under the water at night.
Madeline: *giggles, shaking her head at his first comment* ... *nods at the latter comment* It would, I think *edges a little closer to the waters edge*
Koti: *looks up at the sky* It's not going to be dark for a while yet, though. Maybe we could try it some other time?
Madeline: *nods, smiling* mhm *watches the glow* He will always be with me, so we can.. anytime...you want *backs up a little, then suddenly jumps toward the water, landing half on Koti, splashing water everywhere*
Koti: *gets knocked all the way under the water, squirms for a bit before sticking his head out of the water* It'd be hard to swim with you on top of me. *smiles*
Madeline: *giggles and wipes at her cheek a little ebarrassed, then wipes water off of his face, nodding a little* But I won't drown if I'm on top of you
Koti: *giggles as she wipes his face, since it tickles* But you won't drown anyway. I'm almost lying down in the water and I can still stick my head out.
Madeline: o.o *slowly crawls off of him to stand in the water, shivering a little* Oh... *glow dashes out of the water and flies around*
Koti: *stands up now* But even though it's not deep enough to swim, we can wade. Wading's just walking through the water.
Madeline: *nods, lifting a paw to try to take a step* It's not so bad *holds her tail up as high as she can to keep it out of the water*
Koti: *smiles and walks with her, feeling the silty mud squish between his toes*
Madeline: *follows along beside him, slipping a little on the mud and slick rocks beneath her feet*
Koti: *sees her slip a little* Careful where you put your feet. You wouldn't want to step on a pointy stick or slip and fall in again.
Madeline: *looks at him as she cautiously takes a step* ...o.o *nods. Slows a little to walk more easily* ^^ ...0.0! *jumps to he side, seeming to be spooked by something, and bumps against Koti*
Koti: *bumped into, starts to slip slightly but catches himself* What's wrong? You see something?
Madeline: *continues staring at the water, nods* A....something *lifts her front paw out of the water to point, a fish darts away as she does* 0.0
Koti: *looks where she points and just barely catches a glimpse of the fish as it darts away* A fish? *keeps watching and catches another flash of silver as the fish swims around* It is a fish!
Madeline: *wiggles a little excitedly, inevitably splashing as she does so* Catch one, Koti! *giggles*
Koti: Catch one? Uh, I'm not too good at it, but I'll try. *hops into the bank and walks closer to where the fish are, then leans over the bank with one paw out to wait for a fish to get close*
Madeline: *nods then watches him get out, her glow following him* ...*follows, sloshing through the water a little ways down stream from him and tries to crawl onto the bank*
Koti: *suddenly lashes out with one paw, trying to scoop out a fish, and misses. Fish scatter* Drat. These things are slippery. *waits some more*
Madeline: *crawls up on the bank and shakes a little water from her fur* Aw... *pads over to sit behind him and watches quietly*
Koti: *swipes again, then practically flails at the fish as it darts around his paw. Finally catches it by clapping it between his front paws* I got it! Whoa~! *loses his balance and falls in, fish slips out of his paws and escapes*
Madeline: *eyes widen as he catches the fish* Wow! ...! *watches as he starts to slip, tries to grab him but misses* >.< Koti! *teeters on the edge of the bank*
Koti: *stands up, dripping* I think I should just stay in the water at this point. Then I can't fall in again. *sees Madeline teetering and tries to support her so she doesn't fall*
Madeline: *smiles as she balances against him and nods* You're soaked *wipes a little water from his face*
Koti: Yup. But water dries. And at least it's not cold out. *looks downstream* Want to keep going?
Madeline: *nods quickly* Oh, yes. *pushes off from him to stand better
Koti: OK. *starts walking again, has to scoot around some rocks that are sticking out of the water*
Madeline: *walks along beside him, keeping to the bank and dry land* hmm..mm..hmmm *hums softly, looking down the length of the stream, then looks at Koti, opens her mouth like she's about to say something, then closes it*
Koti: *sees she looked like she was about to say something* Hmm? Something up? *almost trips on a submerged stick and has to look at the stream to make sure he doesn't do that again*
Madeline: *looks at him and smiles, shaking her head, then pauses* Where do you live, Koti?
Koti: Mew's got a place, I live there with most of her other Namrah. How about you, where do you live?
Madeline: *frowns slightly* With Mother and Father. *her glow rests on top her head* They don't like for me to leave without them much.
Koti: *tilts head curiously* Huh. Well, Dad lives in the same place as me, but when I got old enough he wanted me to get out and do stuff on my own instead of staying with him all the time. I used to ride on his back a lot when I was a kit.
Madeline: *stares at him then smiles and giggles* ..cute! *steps up on a rock then climbs up another as the bank starts turning rocky* I want to live on my own...
Koti: Well, why not do it? You're an adult, you should be able to take care of yourself and be allowed to make your own decision about where to live. I could leave and live on my own at any time, I just don't know where to go.
Madeline: o.o hmm *thinks* I wouldn't... *kicks a pebble beneath her paw* know where to go either.
Koti: *blinks, wondering why he hadn't thought of that before* That makes sense...I wonder how people find houses? Someone must know.
Madeline: Umm... *slows her pace* Someone should. *wonders who she could ask, but knows she'd never be brave enough to ask a stranger* Namiah is a pretty big place.
