A huge movement has begun over the casting of The Last Airbender. People feel that the casting will reflect to children who watch the movie that only "white" people are heros. Also, use of minorities in america as the enemies will cause negative psychological effects as the children watch the movie.

The racebending group as also been protesting other movie that they feel had racist comments/actions in the script. One such movie is "The Goods" where an asian car salesman is beaten because he "symbolises" the enemy in foreign car sales.



I know I was pretty upset at the casting, not for the reasons of race, but because I feel the voice actors should have been chosen...its just not right to have a huge american anime without the correct voices.

While I agree that the original actors considered for the cast, as being primarily white, were determined to be a sign of racism, the current cast has been chosen more for ability and appearance, rather than ethnicity alone.
