"it was dark when you lost it" Tamlin was at a loss for words, his doubtful logic was so convoluted it almost made sense until she thought about it. with her hand partially covering her face so he wouldn't be offended at her incredulous look she attempted to reply without laughing at the man. "Perhaps, instead of moving locations waiting until morning would be a better solution?"
Letting go of Baptiste's hair Alais clambered up until she was perched on his shoulder and learning over his head. "Where ma? I wanna go back, hungry."

"No, no," says Roggan. "It's no use, no use....she'll be back...want to see it....I'll be gone..."
"Huh?" asks Baptiste. "Oh, she looks like she's talking to that man over there." He nods toward him, trying not to dislodge his new head ornament.

"Wait!" Tamlin exclaimed interrupting his mumbling. "did you say medallion? was it like an old coin?" his long rambling thoughts finally found a link to logic in her mind as she remembered the chain she had picked up from the riverbed.

Roggan's attention snaps back to Tamlin. "Yes yes yes!" he exclaims, scooching on his knees toward her. "Have you seen it? Do you have it?" His eyes are bright and shiny with hope, and he looks as if he's pleading with her.

"Could it be that you are looking for this?" Tamlin dug around in her pocket and drew out the medallion she had found along the river. " I found it when we were crossing the river on our way to the town. I picked it up because it caught my fancy, but if it's yours I will return it."

Roggan snatches the trinket eagerly. "You....you found it!" he cries, nearly weeping with what looks like relief. "Here, take it! Take all of it! Thank you! Thank you!" He thrusts his coin purse at her and runs away with the medallion, laughing jubilantly.

Roggan's direct exuberance and the sudden weight of the purse in her hands threw Tamlin for a loop and she stood silent for a moment before stuttering "you're... you're welcome. And thank you... it was really just a coincidence, it could have been anyone who picked it up. Anyway... I really should be heading back soon. Is there anything else you needed?" Tamlin looked uneasily at him wondering if she should just head back. She hadn't gotten anything for Alais to eat yet so she should begin to make dinner back at the wagon soon.
