I'd like to introduce a very special familiar, one that cannot be bought, begged or bribed, but which is granted to those with dedication, the Tanuki. Not much is known about this rare little creature other than it's omnivorous diet and mercurial personality, and that those chosen by a Tanuki are said to have great luck.
