THANK YOU BULLETBEARD! That is what I am trying to say, regardless of whether or not it is an excuse or method you can't find any logic or realism in magic... that is what makes it magic

and anyways how I use magic in the rp, wasn't even the original issue I posted this thread for... was how to keep it going...

It is too open ended I am worried it will just start and end abruptly... I don't have any specific Ideas of how the story is going to go and I fear that there are going to be alot of people that sign up and never post, because we aren't whre they are.

Just because there are real life plants which grow in salt water doesn't make my point about magic needing to be explained invalid: it just means that there are real life land trees that grow in saltwater...

I could care less about the saltwater trees, I already knew they existed but I couldn't remember the name, I almost called it a kelp tree (lol) and I didn't say you are invalid, I am just stating that how magic is explained isn't what I am worried about, that is a kink that I have a solution too, you argued your point which made me think, and figure out ways to open it up but still keep it under control.. I still don't think there is any science behind magic, or any realism behind any magic, and I am not going to use those in my rp... but you did make me think a bit more about how I am going to watch over magic users to make sure they aren't doing anything stupid...

What kind of action do you want the RPer's engaged in? The answer to this could influence your storyline.

well there probably going to be alot of battles, however there will be some diplomacy and down time too, where nothing extravagant is happening. I will be dictating how time moves throughout the day. (there is nothing I can't stand more that having a months worth of events happen in 1 or 2 "RP Days"))

I worry about the down time, because a lack of action usually leads to people dropping out...

I also worry about getting too many RPers, because if one thread is moving more than a couple pages a day... then people are going to get annoyed and not want to read it, and they are going to drop out.

Part of me thinks this is an RP that would be better suited to being a guild of its own rather than inside of a guild. but I don't want to use all the money for something that will probably fall through.

Start it as a thread, if that works move to a guild or shoot for one of our subforums, or do that then get a guild
