profile
Kansai-based visual band SINCREA's music is energetic rock with an optimistic sound and emphasis on melody. The high register HAL sings in has caused the band to be likened to early period Janne Da Arc. Though it was slow going at first, the quartet's momentum has been building and it looks like a very bright future lies ahead of them.
biography
SINCREA's origins go back more than two years before the band's first release. Vocalist HAL and bassist HIRO went to the same middle school and, at a school culture festival, they formed their first band. Drummer KAZI joined aslo, but they disbanded during their third year of high school.
Some time after that, guitarist TOMO reformed the band and, on June 20, 2005, the present manifestation of SINCREA was born. Their live activities were mostly concentrated in the Kansai region though they eventually spread out into the Tokyo area.
Their first one-man live, LIVE HELIANTHUS 2007, took place in December of 2007, just after the release of the mini-album HELIANTHUS. In May of 2008 their first maxi-single, Hikari, went on sale and ranked 20th on the Oricon indie charts.
In the summer they embarked on a coupling tour with Golden Bomber: "LIVE HELIANTHUS #3" - with Golden Bomber. In addition to their live activities in Japan, they ventured to Europe to attend Tsukicon, a Japanese culture convention in Finland. They finished up 2008 with the release of their debut full-length album, ATLAS.
March 21, 2009 marked their first one-man in Tokyo, which was followed by the release of their second single, Sakura maichiru kisetsu ni kimi ga yume mita koto (produced by Kiyo, keyboardist of Janne Da Arc). Hailed as the second coming of Janne Da Arc, SINCREA also propagates an air of newness and promise. Visual fans will want to keep an eye out for this up-and-coming band.
