The day was beautiful, warm despite the seasons slowly transitioning into fall, the air crisp and breezy. Nereus leapt out of the stream and shook off the icy water with a grin. His fangs clamped down on his prize lunch, mmm fish, he loved fish, despite the tiny bones that often pestered. He had mastered the art of picking every scrap of fish flesh from the tiny fragile bones.

His coat was slowly starting to match his fathers in texture, all the extra oils from his diet and habits were turning it shiny and thicker. Since he was a pup he had been swimming with his parents and sister and now no waters temperature or current concerned him. Perhaps it was a bit fool hearty but he was still young, with a grin he sprawled down to eat.
