The air misted, you can decide where, just let me know. The mist grew, but remained a flat circle. It paused when it reached just over the hight and width of an average pony. After a moment, a female pony stepped through. She was pretty, probably colored by Angelique. Her hair had edits to let it swirl around the middle of her forelegs with a single swirl of it across her back, pale brown. She wore a long dark red blouse and a darker skirt that was almost, but not quite, black. Hanging from a silver chain around her neck was a small pendant of Tiger's eye that, if he can sense magic, would radiate it, and would identify itself as female. Her eyes were golden, her skin tone is light brown. She looked around after stepping through the portal, just getting her tail out in time before it closed. "Drat drat, double drat," she said, stomping a hoof indelicately. Of course she used a slightly HARSHER word three times, also starting with a D, but we'll go with drat for now. She snorted out then looked at herself. "mother night," she mumbled, picking up her hooves to examine them. Finally she shrugged and for the first time, looked around.

Tarak felt the female ahead. He had not fed yet this night, and perhaps she would be easy prey. Heavens knew he required some sustenance before his resting. He could no longer go without. It was too dangerous.

She felt some one approaching, scenting the air. the Psychic sent was odd. not Landen but not blood. "Guardian?" she asked of the night, whispering. She had heard legends of such creatures. She looked up and the night sky, and to be on the safe side, put an invisible shield around herself.

Tarak landed, approaching her with a charming smile. He sent out compulsions for her to come to him unafraid and calm, his arms spread in an inviting manner.

Her gold eyes glazed and she started to step forward. Her jewel shone brightly and she stumbled back, her eyes clearing some. She blinked again, another step forward then stopped suddenly at the inner edge of her shield, blinking some more. "Black.... widow...?" she asked, gasping. She might be one. Her grandmother had been one, on her father's side. But she had never met the woman. Could that be the odd scent?

He frowned. He was old, and his compulsions should have rendered any mortal under his control. He kept smiling, "You wish to come to me, no? There are things that I can help you feel. You would like to feel them, yes?"

She ground her feet into the ground, keeping herself from crossing the invisible line of her shield. "What are you... doing to me?" she asked. "Just... stop. If I stepped on your web, I' m so..... H*LL FIRE! YOU'RE MALE!"

"I do not believe I intended to hide such a thing from you. But it does not matter, you would still like to come and allow me to show you the joys of my tricks, yes?"

"OOOOOH no..." she said, suddenly much more aware. She threw a second shield up in front of herself in visibly. "I will NOT be broken!" she informed him, just shy of fire in her eyes as a stubborn look stole over her face. "I will not be taken! I am whole, and I will continue to be whole!"

Tarak stopped, emotionless eyes staring at her, "You are not the mortal I perceived you to be. Are you psychic?"

She tossed her head a bit to give herself a second to speak. She didn't know how to get back from here, and this is where her teacher would most likely find her, but she wasn't going to tell HIM any of that. "I put myself in danger by breathing, " she said finally. "By living we are all in danger, and a danger to others." Then, to be at least some what formal, "Who do you serve?" She wasn't certain he was a warlord prince, but he had the attitude for one. Or a Warlord at least. And what ever jewel he wore, she couldn't sense it. He was either half blood or significantly stronger then her. Neither choice was comforting.
