Is anyone here planning on attending Steam Con, October 23-25? I am, and welcome anyone who's up for a game of Infernal Contraption or a spot of tea. (I will be dressed rather closely to my Gaia avatar.)

I was going to go, but my job has hit a slow spot and not making a lot of money any more. So now I'm stuck in Dodge City. gonk

I was going to go, but I opted for a trip to a Portland Decemberists concert as my big adventure this year. My budget doesn't have a lot of wiggle room. rolleyes Next year, next year...

It's a next year trip for me (although most certainly on the agenda!). I'm terribly excited about this, I've seen the promotional material and it looks like it will be extraordinary.
Any way those left behind might solicit photographs from you? dramallama

I realize this is a very old thread, and that we have a long while until Steam Con 2010 (November 19th-21st), but does anyone have plans of going? Or perhaps have any advice for a first-time attendee of Steam Con? (:

I plan on going for 2010. it should be just like doing an anime con, just with more brass. The theme this year is Western. It's Seattle, wear something warm- and yeah, I mean [over your] costume. Not everyone's hard-core enough to invest in heavy victorian wool things, but if you have any wear it or wear a coat over that corset.
The local steampunks here are the "Seattle Steam Rats" and they meet up at the Wayard Coffee house in Greenwood 6:30-11:00 Mondays to talk about steamcon, work on outfits, gizmos, drawings etc.
