You are new (or lost), that is why you are here. You want to improve your RolePlaying skills.

GOOD FOR YOU!!!

We need more literate people in the world.

So, some general tips for RolePlaying, starting with the most important part.

CREATING YOUR CHARACTER

o1. Naming
--- - For some people this is a hard step and for some people it is the easiest.
--- - Some suggestions I could make are this:
----- * Wait till you make your biography (we will discuss this part later). By giving your character a background it gives you a better idea of what to name them.
----- * Pick a language, then pick a character trait and get the translation for it. Voila, instant name.

Some Name Examples are:
(See below)

o2. Age, Sex, Orientation, Ect

--- - The general rule for age is pay attention not all RolePlays take place in our time period. Be sure to check which time period you are in and age you character accordingly. Ex: If you have an 18 year old character and the RolePlay takes place in the year 1800 you would obviously have a character who was born in the year 1782. It's not that hard to figure out.
--- - Keep the age appropriate, if your character is a vampire. Don't make them 18 years old. Anything that is considered immortal is safe to assume that they are at least 50 years old, most will be much older. Occasionally the RolePlay maker will specify an age limit so follow it.
--- - In case you don't know (because when I started I sure didn't) Orientation is the sexuality of your character. Gay, Bi, Straight.

o3. Biography (more commonly referred to as bio)

--- - This is important!!!
--- - You can bullshit your way through the naming and aging process (we ask that you don't) But you cannot screw up a Biography. This is one of the single most important things in making a character. It tells you what happened in their past and what is going on in their present up till the point that the RolePlay actually starts.
--- - Also keep in mind your biography when you are creating your characters personality. (will go over that later) Not many characters can have a troubled past and still have a bubbly personality. There will be side effects of their past.
--- - BE CREATIVE I don't know how many RolePlays I have been in where everyone's parents have died, they all led a troubled childhood and are now emo and hate everyone. That is overplayed to the extreme. Parents are good things, add them in your bio. They don't have to be in your characters life at the current moment but they don't have to be dead.
--- - You can have happy characters. Not everyone has to have issues that haunt their past, it is completely OK to have characters that lead normal lives and have not had it too rough.
--- - NORMAL IS OK!! You really don't have to have a character with a tragic past to make it a good character.

o4. Personality

--- - IMPORTANT This is another of those things that are important. It directly relates to your biography as well. As mentioned above, you can not have a happy go lucky person who's parents tragically died in a fire. You can have a person who portrays themselves as happy go lucky, but are really upset inside. But they cannot be just happy after something like that.
--- - Usually people will ask for a list of traits, try not to contradict yourself. Like, an emo person who is happy and likes rainbows, but also doesn't like people much. <--- That is a contradiction and it will not work.

STAY IN CHARACTER!!!
I cannot stress how important this is. Your personality determines how your character will act and react to the world around them. Saying in your character profile that they are happy and then making your character angry at the world or sad most of the time is not acceptable

o5. Other
--- - A lot of people will ask for likes and dislikes for your character. Many find this difficult, but there is honestly not much I can tell you to smooth your path in this. Using your bio to your advantage can work. For the tragic past characters who's parents died in a fire, one of the dislikes of the character could be fire. That is really all I can give you as an example. Use your imagination people!!
--- - Some people will also ask for songs that describe your character. This is also something I can not help you on unfortunately. You can pick a song, then make your bio with the song in mind. Or you can just pick a song that you think may describe the character.

Alright. So you just got the basics of making a character profile for a RolePlay.
You've gone and filled it out and have now submitted it. You were accepted!! (maybe)
Now what?

Well you RolePlay of course!!!
A few Rules to remember though:

-o1-
BE LITERATE!
(We all make mistakes, and we all have bad days. But!! You see these little things down there?)
, " " .
(They are very important. Use them.)

-o2-

Try to avoid one liners
(This is when your post consist of... )
... [[Hunter walked through the woods and saw Ravin, He said "Hi"]]
(That is beyond unacceptable. That is what we are trying with all our might to discourage.)

-o3-
Txt t4|k is n0t 0k
(No one likes it when you talk like that. Use the words that your teachers taught you. It's not that hard really.)

Many of these rules you will find in the Rules in the RolePlay you will be posting in. It is because they are important Keep them in mind.
