Does anybody know how you can "perfect" your slides?

My guess would be to practice it until it becomes more comfortable for you. The main thing that you need to remember when you're doing a slide is to rotate your hips about 30 to 45 degrees towards the sideline. If you try to focus all of the turn in your shoulders and upper body then you won't look good and you can't breathe well. So focus on rotating your hips and then also on pulling the trailing shoulder back. When you're sliding left, your right shoulder tends to come forward because that's a more comfortable position. But instead of trying to push your left shoulder forward, try pulling your right one back. That will probably help your posture as well. And good posture makes all marching easier. =)

there is this one exercise we do and it does help a lot. do this in the mirror. in 4 counts we twist our body as far as we can to the right without moving our lower body, then we hold for 4 counts, go back to front 4 counts, hold 4 counts, left 4 counts, hold for counts, back to front 4 counts, keep repeating the exercise. when you have that down, find a place where u can march and do the same exact exercise but just march forward. it helps ssssoooo much.
