Appearance: 6' tall. Mocha colored skin, white eyebrows and hair. Hair is thick dreadlocks tied in the back of her head (looks like a mop coming out of the back of her head). She has a long scar across her face, starting at her left eyebrow and running down to the right side of her jaw. The scar is a deep blue color and next to her hair, is her most distiguishing feature. Her eyes are a shocking violet color. She wears a leather brown trench coat, split up to the middle of her back. Her sword is a dai-katana, buckled to her belt on her waist. Her shirt is just enough to cover whats needed, of a black color. Her pants are long, brown rough material, rolled up around her boots. The boots are similar to the ones worn by link in the Legend of Zelda.

Bio:Born into a non gifted family, Maya discovered at an early age that she saw things differantly than her family. She could actually see the lightwaves around her, and bend them to her will. When she tried to explain what she was seeing, they just could not understand, but knew that their daughter was one of the gifted. Delighted, they brought her to the evaluator. He failed her, because she refused to use fire and the family was disgraced. They abandoned her on the side of the road and told her to die for ruining their honor. Jaded from an early age, she grew up scorning those around her for the very fact that they had families that loved them.

*pet/familiar: A large fire cobra. Black with glowing red eyes and runes that pulse on its body.

*weapons: Dai-katana, and light weapons.

Personality: Suppressed. She is capable of human emotion, but does not show it unless someone proves themselves worthy.

Abilities: Can manipulate light into weapons or can actually ignite things with the power of her lazer beam. Maya can also manipulate actuall fire. The only place she cannot see in the dark is the stygian blackness of deep earth, and she dosen't go there.
