BAKU INFORMATION

A baku is creature spawned from japanese folklore. They are known to resemble lions and feed off of nightmares. As they are attracted by mental turmoil, creatures such as the Notions hold much interest for them. To an adult notion, a baku is roughly the same size comparison of a tiger to a full-grown human.

Baku, though naturally aggressive, tend to like to stay close to vents of mental output and, as such, greatly enjoy the company of notions. If your notion is active in their journal, don't be surprised if a roaming baku should venture in for a visit.

They will generally not harm your notion and will simply be curious of them. In fact, if the Baku in question takes a special liking to the notion it has visited, it may choose to bond with them and become the equivalent of their familiar.

You will know when a baku has chosen to remain with a notion when a small red emblem, claiming the notion as their bond, appears in the corner of your notion's cert as shown below:

Though Baku cannot speak, they can communicate their desires and thoughts to their chosen bond and to one another via telepathy. Humans cannot understand them...only baku and notions are able to freely interpret one another.

Baku will ONLY bond with a notion. You may not adopt one on its own.

Baku info and rules

All bakus have 20 HP and, with their paws, teeth and feet, can do 2 damage to each other with a hit. If a baku accumulates seven orbs and chooses to trade them in for a weapon, the weapon will allow them to do 4 damage to the challenging baku, it's mainly luck of the draw and your RP skills. The more battles it has won the stronger it will be. Winning battles will earn your baku a spirit point. For each seven spirit points you earn you can form into to a new baku for another notion or a weapon to help your Baku. Weapons add a +2 to your baku's strength and are worn as a small amulet around the baku's neck. Otherwise it shows up in their inventory. Spirit orbs cannot be stolen or lost.

Later on if you can help your prinny reincarnate, you can choose to merge your baku to your new human. They will be able to breed and are only able to fight with other baku/humans. There will be a grace period before your notion attracts a new baku. If you happen to attract a new Prinny, it will be automatically stunted from reincarnating while in your care. You may only build it's loyalty if you wish, but if taken by someone that doesn't have a prinny they can try and raise it to reincarnation if they can tame it.

Spirit Balls

User Image

These are what you collect if your baku has won a match with another baku. Collecting seven of these not only raise your Baku's level but allow you to trade them in for weapons.

Their first weapon is a magical throwing stone that always returns to them after throwing. It does little damage but may be good for a temorary stun.

Trading in again will upgrade the weapon to a tailclub. Good for disabling opponents or stunning them momentarily.

A third upgrade will change the tailclub to metal fangcaps that serve as blades. These are also good at disabling but are capeable of more damage.

Rules

1.Battles will be a mix of a six sided die roll and RP. I will be doing the dice rolls for you and posting the results in the battle thread.

2.The challengers must post in the challenged party's journal and if the challenged party accepts, then they both post their consent in the main battle thread and go into the waiting list. When your turn comes up, we PM you with 24 hours notice and what time the battle will start. If you're there, you have more of a chance of winning because you'll be able to RP you bakus and attempt to dodge attacks and use weapons when you have earned them. If neither of you shows up, I will roll the dice against one another with no option of dodging or weapons until one of them falls over.

3.When RPing please do not god mode. Baku cannot bite each other's heads off, cast magic (I wanna cast..'Magic Missle!'), or be all powerful demons/anges/mimes/rodeo clowns, ect. Once your actions are over, the turn has ended.

4.This is basically quick RP so try not to write a novel, mkay?
lather,rinse, repeat.

Journal Prinnies

Prinnies are creatures that house human souls hoping to be reincarnated someday though enough money or good deeds. Randomly, one will pass through your journal. It is up to you and your concept to talk with the prinny. If it befriends you, it may stay. There will be a fee of 3k should your prinny choose to stay. Help it to reincarnation and it will become loyal to you and your notion as a guardian. Should you decide otherwise, it will wander off to a different journal.

Prinny levels range from 1-5, 5 being the hardest and 1 being the easiest. Their past lives depend on their levels, you won't find out until they reincarnate just what they were in life. Each will have certain quests or tasks you must perform to gain points toward their reincarnation.

Since they are adults anyway, the prinnies only have two stages. No, they can not breed. On the upside, all prinnies will be different. This also means there will be fewer of them.

Prinny Battles

You have a prinny. Someone else does not. That person challenges you to try and take your Prinny! Now your baku must fight. Using a system that is half dice roll half RP you will battle under the watch of a GM. The winner either gets a Prinny where the loser loses his or the attacked owner's baku earns a spirit orb.

The prinny you have aquired has no loyalty to you. Yes, that means you will have to start over in helping it to reincarnate. If you gain back a Prinny that was stolen from you, you continue on from the level you are in helping it, as it has previous loyalty to you.

Prinny Points

Your prinny will need these to help it reach it's human form. You will be given various missions and tests to pass to earn points for your prinny. The quests will be given at random and you will have an alloted time to complete your tasks. Failing will not lose you points, you just won't gain any, or less points than you would have.

Reincarnated humans

Reincarnated humans are prinnies that have earned their humanity back. They will not revert back into their previous jobs as they are starting anew. In this form however, they CAN breed and make a new baby for both owners to but it has to be a heavily-RPed and up-from-the-bottom relationship to be honored there is a fee of 20k fee to have a baby. Both parents can help raise it in their respective journals and we only allow one prinny breeding at a time. There won't be another one till the previous one has grown up.
