I love my boyfriend. Why is this a problem? It's not.
BUT. I am a senior in high school and graduating early to move to Canada with my family, in mid-march. Boyfriend and I have been together for almost nine months, and the only reason we have a breakup in mind is because of this move. So what I think is going to happen is we are going to break up when I move. As in, saying goodbye for the last time before I go will be the last of it. I hope he doesn't date another girl for a while... And we are going to be best friends over the phone I suppose, but we haven't even really talked about it because we don't like to think about it. And I almost cry every time I do.
Your thoughts?

I feel ya.
My boyfriend is going to Vancouver (uh about a 4 hour PLANE ride from here..) for school for 2 years.
We're going to try the long distance thing. He leaves in 1 week. I'm dreading it..
It will hurt alot..and will be hard to move on. Is it possible to do a long distance relationship or is it too far?

My friend Amber's boyfriend goes to school in Massachusetts (we're in Colorado) and visits on holidays and they have an awesome relationship. So go for it 'cos sometimes it works! He can come back and see you over breaks and stuff. : D

And my boyfriend issue is cleared up (well... not really) because I'm not moving to Canada after all (my dad rejected the job offer because they took too long drawing up a contract). And my boyfriend broke up with me yesterday. I'm quite upset but I'll be okay... it's just a bummer 'cos I can't actually see myself dating anyone else and I think he's into some other girl (and that's a big part of why we broke up). ANYWAY, issue addressed originally is no longer at hand.

Hey, look at Cait and I. And Stef and Nick!
And Stef and Travvy, before that.
And no, don't say "waahh they broke up bad example!"
They still worked out for 2 years, and the breakup had nothing to do with the distance.

If you're life isn't completely centered around being with them and at your age it shouldn't be, distance should be ok.
