The firey tip of the young male's tail twitched with impatience; he'd been searching all morning and still no sign of his sister. His adoptive father Dale had awakened him early saying that the wanderer Diayna had been spotted recently in the area and could Charr please go find her. Charr had always been attached to the family that had adopted him and especially to Diayna who had found his idol abandoned in the jungle, so of course Charr had agreed to go. Now though he was wondering why he had even bothered. "No one can ever find her when she doesn't wish to be found," he grumbled and began to wonder if Dale had some other motive in sending his "son" away. Though independant Charr had stayed very close to the familiar territory and was always available to parents and sisters. Perhaps Dale wanted him away. It was natural for the older male to wish the younger to be off to claim his own place. "It would serve him right if I did... then he wouldn't have anyone to send off on fool's errands like this."
Still slightly irritated Charr continued on through the jungle searching... but at this point not knowing what exactly for...

Her own family... had grown up quite nicely. Even the weird Body Bag had his own children now; that proved quite the hassle for her. Atotoli was an old girl; been around for a few generations. Even though she's had one litter of kits herself, she had no mate, hadn't found the one for her. No one she'd met had stirred things in her, not yet.
With a shake of her head, the winged female beat her wings a couple of times and hovered above the spot she'd claimed as hers. It was an area near a great body of water; a huge river with plenty to eat. There was a cave that served as her den not to far away, and a plateau from which she flew up there and watched her territory. No one usually ventured this way. Her heart was so heavy. Why couldn't she have happiness? Body Bag found his soul mate in the beautiful feather winged girl.
"My children have their happiness... when do I get mine?" Her words were lost as she went higher into the air, eyes downcast, watching the jungle under here. She was glad she lived in a clearing. Swooping to the left, she landed on a dead limb to a great big dead tree and tucked her wings under her. Normally she wouldn't care about love or settling down, but Atotoli knew she was getting old. Knew it was beyond time for her to have a life of happiness. Maybe today would prove something good.

After spending hours aimlessly roaming, Charr was startled to pick up the scent of water. It was much more than the streams he was used to. His curiosity got the best of him and he decided to investigate, he even welcomed the chance he might startle up a snack. As he grew closer he could hear the water as well as scent it.
He began to approach more slowly, moving into a hunting crouch as he noted the decrease in cover as he neared a clearing. Under the scent of life and water he noted something else familiar, the scent of another b'alam. Its not Diayna... but its definately a female. I hope she won't mind a strange male passing through her territory, he thought as he approached the river.
