Okay, I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I'm in cheerleading and band. I'm gonna finish off this year, but next year's my problem. it'll be senior year! I like cheer and all, and i could even get a scholarship, but it'll get in the way of band. I won't get to march to the stadium, won't be able to play for kickoff, yell at the end of the Candace, or .... DANCE TO STAND TUNES!!!!! Plus I won't get to be involved in pep band as much during basket ball season, or even do winterguard! I love cheer but there's so much at stake, what should I do?!?!?

Which program do you have more fun in?
Or, which program do you like better?
We can't decide for you. And I can't give my opinion since the cheerleaders at my school are all stuck-up airheads and anyone on there tends to have quit band if they were in it.

We have cheerleaders in band all the time. What they do is go with the team, hang out at the gate and join in as their squad goes by. They do pre-game with us and go back to the cheer squad. At the fourth quarter the cheerleaders all go over to the band, and we all play tunes and dance and cheer on the team together. Try talking to your BD and coach about doing it that way.

I really want to tell you to chose band, but from your comment, it seems that you like cheerleading more. So... if you HAVE to chose one go with the one you like better, (Your comment made me think it was cheerleading)
Or... you could do what other people were saying, try your best to do both. If the time comes that you HAVE to drop one, well you'll deal with that when the time comes.

Take it easy.
We have a legend in my band, Eric Kurn. Not only did he play Tuba all four of his highschool years, but he was also on the football team all four years. He actually would play the whole game, run up to the stands to grab his tuba, and run back down to the track, pull a marching jacket over his jersey and play right then and there. (:
Also, we have at least 5 cheerleaders on our marching band and countless amounts of students in other sports.
Talk to your instructors about it. Make sure they also know that it's completely possible and you'll find a reasonable way around it. (:

Well, you seem to like cheerleading and you said you could even get a scholarship with cheer. If cheer is what you want to do in your future, do tht. Even if you want to also do music in your future you dont need to be in band, i mean most awsome music legends were self taught.
