It's Rosh Hashanah, what is everyone doing?

I'm working, and watching my little cousin D:

Maybe I'll give her apples and honey as a snack (yes, indoctrination!) but she doesn't even know what a Jew is.

Damn, at her age I KNEW I wanted to be a Jew.

Happy New Year :3

Oh so it was apples!

I recieved a slice of cake, my work colleague said it was a honey cake, for the Jewish New Year.

She said it is given so the New Year will be sweet.

Happy New Year to everyone! 4laugh
I celebrated the New Year’s Eve yesterday with my family; I admit, we weren’t enough patient to follow the ritual, so we were just toasting and ate. ;P

Happy New Year to everyone! smile

Ahhh, I'm so exhausted. I was at a wedding today- deliberately on Rosh Hashana because the groom is half Jewish (on his mother's side too!) and the bride wishes she were Jewish (in their words).
So they were married under a canopy, and the groom smashed the glass.
And later, there was some Israeli dancing, wheee! I feel badly though because I kept stepping on people's toes. I shouldn't be allowed out in public, seriously. cry

This weekend we're celebrating Cambodian New Years. The actual date is 13th - 15th but most temples do it on the weekend before in case one of those days don't land on a Sunday. In my city, it wont be too decent. The city tore down our temple but we'll head to the neighboring temples. The one closest to us is really turning out to be something else. I'll make sure to take some pictures of the statues the monks craft themselves.
