In regards to the length of the neck - this is a child scale guitar (3/4 scale), that is approximately 22 1/2" scale. Sooooo the entie guitar should only be around 30" when complete.
As for nose-diving, I dont realy care. Its not the hardest neck to hold up (easier to hold up than an SG neck when it dives), and I'll position the strap pins strategically (perhaps even go the acoustic route and tie a shoelace to the end of the strap then tie it to the headstock.)

I see, but why don't you just carry the full size guitar in a Case. I mean I bring my guitar to school and home everyday, its not a big problem.

Two, I ride the bus to and from school, and can in no way shape or form travel on said bus with a full sized guitar in a case or gigbag. Three, its the principle of the thing. Come on, how is a custom guitar NOT cool, especially one that you can essentially slip into a gym bag with a mini amp and be ready to rock in the smallest of places? It's mostly about the cool factor. Oh yeah, and did i meantion im a lazy b*****d?

I think it's a sweet little idea. As long as you do it well, and it doesn't look or feel really dodgy.

The feel should be quite nice, judging from the two mini guitars I platyed down at the local shop. The necks a little bit odd getting used to due to the smaller size, but other then that they're great players. Besides, I can always use making a neck as a future project - could be fun.

Our opinions just differ here I suppose.

heh, I like the second shape more. And yes I agree, there is definately a sort of coolness to having a guitar that can fit in a gym bag blaugh xd

Any more ideas are welcome. Right now I'm basically biding my time till christmas (when i'll ge t the guitar), so I've got a bit of time before I actually start anything to brainstorm.

I still think you should do something a little more original with the headstock.

I think the 3x3 looks pretty good, myself, AND it minimizes the wasted space of a Strat headstock. I may put a curve or something in there to make it more elegant, but I'm too lazy to sketch it out in photoshop right now. I'll update it later today.

lol, that's awesome. If you manage to pull it off, show us the pics, haha.
I do think the headstock could be "shrunk" up more. I dunno how, but it looks like there are more options there.

Well if iget the guitar for christmas I'll pull it off any damn way I can. Right now though its looking like a toss up between me getting a full-sized strat project or this mini strat project - i truly have no idea which I'll recieve. I may recieve neither!
