This is a generally placid breed that nests in the mountains of Wales. A reservation has in fact been set up in the country in order to ensure the survival of the species. Its main prey is sheep, and it rarely troubles humans. The one known exception to this occurred in 1932, in what is now known as the Ilfracombe Incident. On this occasion, a rogue Welsh Green swooped on a beach full of holiday-makers. This unfortunate occurrence aside, the Welsh Green generally leaves humans alone, and is most famous for the rather tuneful nature of its roar.
Fleur Delacour was pitted against a Welsh Green in the First Task of the Triwizard Tournament. She tried a type of sleeping enchantment on it, which worked until it snored and set fire to her skirt
