"I enjoy trying new things," said L'ior, shrugging absently, "but mind, neither am I the sort to put myself into danger when it can be avoided, such as your flit-carriage." A grin flashed over his mobile features, arching his brows and lightening the shadows. "But if you've the care to learn, I can always teach you a few tricks in relation to bread. There's little more pleasant than a loaf with a crusty, golden outside and a soft, fine inside..." For a moment, the rider's deep-blue eyes flickered with dreams and memory, though he was called back to earth before too long by the other's changing of the subject. Crisis of absentmindedness averted.

"Well," he said, clearing his throat and having the grace to blush at his flight of fancy, "Dioth and I have been quite a few places, really, though we do tend to stay around Igen for the most part. Gathers are always worth going to, though, no matter where they are if you've a way." Long fingers raked delicately back through the heavy, thick crop of L'ior's blue-black hair. "If you've no way to the Hold for a Gather, you should come and ask us. If I and mine are going, I see no reason why it would not simply be easiest for you to come with me, yes? It is not as if it requires a trip out of our way."

In agreement, the sleepy blue, cuddled in the hot sand, gave an agreeing low croon deep in his chest, tailtip twitching back and forth as if in concurrence.

Yisenkar grinned broadly, again not having to fake the expression, but admittedly having to curb the predatory element that would have crept in had his face been truly honest. "Again, thank you! On both counts, I would like to learn to make nice bread, I think it would please my father for one thing - and I don't really do that enough - and for another it's a useful skill." A useful chance to get closer to this wonderfully open and giving rider. How he didn't get walked all over by the world at large Yisenkar had no idea at all.

"If you'd like, maybe when you've taught me a bit about making bread I could show you some techniques for making a great dessert? I've never tried to teach anyone anything before so I don't know if I'd be any good, but I'd be happy to try." It was important to give something back, not so much that it was a large cost to him but something. He had of course already offered to give sweet treats, but maybe offering to show L'ior how to make them would be even better received.

Quite honestly, L'ior did have quite a habit of letting himself be taken advantage of, but in some senses he didn't seem to mind -- it let him do what he was most used to, and that was help people. "I'd like that," said the rider with a blithe grin, shrugging happily. "In particular, cakes. I'm very good at making frosting, but the cakes themselves sometimes elude me. I can never remember the proper proportions for flour and the like."

Sheepishly, he scratched at the side of his nose, shrugging a bit. "Though I suppose that we shall have to plan around two different schedules..."

"That's true," Yisenkar shared in the sheepish smile, "we candidates don't exactly get a lot of time off, I'm sure you remember... I usually have a couple of candlemarks after dinner to spend on this and that though." That was about the best he had to offer, he hoped it would suit L'ior. Having done so very well for himself it would be infuriating to lose out because of bad timings. He'd make it work, the youth decided, somehow he would make it work; he was not going to let the chance to ally himself with a rider slip away.

"Ach," snorted L'ior as he shrugged, "I do recall it, though it has been a long time for me. While I usually spend that time scrubbing Dioth... I suppose that we could spend a candlemark or so of that working together, if that'd suit you well enough." The older rider was used to being busy, and this was just another addition to that. At least, he thought, this part would be pleasant, right?

"Yea," Yisenkar allowed himself to grin, "I'd like that very much. Thank you." It was all so... easy. What he wanted just danced there in front of him, cheerful as you please. He wanted to snatch it, to possess it, but he had to be careful. L'ior seemed easy so far, but ruining this would be disastrous. If he slipped up, the blue rider would probably tell others all about him and he'd really struggle to make more allies. Tread carefully, don't ask anything much, just get the man to trust him. He could do that.

"I hope it doesn't put you out at all Dioth," he said after a moment with a smile to the blue, "but... Well this is something I'd really like to learn. I'd like to just get to spend time with Yours too. He's a nice guy, I don't seem to meet too many of them with how we candidates are always so focused on fighting with other factions." A stroke of genius, involve the dragon too, and seem as if he could really do with a friend, and yet wasn't grovelling and subservient about it. perfect.
