Robopocalypse by Daniel H. Wilson.
This is certainly a page turner, but it's also a bit scary, and not in the way of horror. You see, this book tells of the War between humans and machines after a rouge AI decides that humanity has served its purpose. What makes this different than other robot uprising stories is the time frame. While technically science fiction, this happens maybe 20-25 years out. Ten years after inter-vehicle communications chips become mandatory. And those are being developed for the experimental self-driving cars. Part of what makes the novel so believable is that the author is a roboticist. This is a must-read for me, plus a good amount of time to unwind enough to trust technology again. (It took about half an hour before I could gather the courage to boot up.)
