┎ I say there's a fifty-fifty chance that the idiot did it on purpose.
She's obviously not a very creative person.
And heck, she may have gone over this years before writing Twilight, then just wrote it down while her subconscious dictated.

OMFG, that man worked at the hospitals in Easton, Allentown, and Bethlehem, those 3 cities are only an hour away from me!

Eh... I doubt that Charles Cullen has anything to do with Meyer's decision on the name. I know of quite a few people with their first name Cullen, as well as a couple who have the last name Cullen. And as for Carlisle... that was probably just Meyer being super uncreative.
Carlisle is a town in Washington. It's by the coast... not horribly far from Forks.
