So I had my mammogram yesterday.
I was taken into a exam area. There were no men in the exam area. There was a curtained dressing room with paper gowns.
I had to undress from the waist up and put on the gown.
She put a lead drape belt around my waist and walked me up to the machine. She adjusted the machine to my height and adjusted me how she needed. She then told me that she was going to compress my breast, and that the more compressed, the better the image, but if it hurt to say something.
She was able to compress me to her desired level. She said that some women can't take a lot of compression. It didn't HURT persey, but it was uncomfortable.
Then she walked behind a glass wall and said, "Don't move, don't breathe."
She took images at two angles. Straight up and down and at a 45° angle. Then I was escorted to a waiting room. After about 10 minutes she came back and said the preliminary images looked good, and that my doctor would contact me and that I could get dressed and leave.
There is no tenderness or pain in my boob.
