With the pristine sun shining high overhead, the rainbow mare picked her way across the river bed with a song in her heart. The stones were wide and high, sticking far out above the water, but they were slippery little buggers. One good toss and she'd be going down river!
Nimbly, Kandi's golden hooves skimmed over a rock until all four were settled in beside each other, preparing for the next conquest. Her tongue was stuck out to the side, weird eyes crossed while her tail swayed. "Steady...steady..." She whispered to herself, crouching down as low as she could possibly go before leaping.
The fall was swift.
She over shot the distance and the screaming mass of flailing limbs soared to the opposite shore. Her horn rammed into the mud, halting all progress and forcing her butt to slam back down into the water.
"Owwwie." Kandi's lip quivered as her whole body tried to recover. She tried to sit up, but her horn was still stuck and try as she may, it just wouldn't pull free.
