So even though Windows 7 isn't out until October 22, I got my hands on a legitimate copy and product key from a friend. I installed it over Vista and I love it. I've played with the Release Candidate before, but it's so nice to have it now as my main OS and permanently. Plus I got the Ultimate edition.
It's amazing easy to use, and fixes a lot of problems I had with Vista.
Has anyone tried out Windows 7? What do you think? Anyone plan on converting once it comes out?

I have Mac so I'll never see how Windows 7 works. Mom gets a free upgrade to Windows 7 when it comes out. Mac's new OS comes out pretty soon too.

i don't have it on the main computer i haunt, and it's not on my brother's laptop (both of those still have good ol' XP), but my dad updated the rest of the computers in the house to use it. he really loves it, and considering Vista caused him a lot of stress (since he fixes and sells computers), i think he's happy they fixed most of the problems.
i'm probably not going to update until necessary :S i'm still happy with XP and i don't want to have to go through the trouble of getting used to a new OS when i don't have to. XP still works fine for me, and it helps me to get done what i want done.

I know most computer companies are giving out Windows 7, but is Intel one of them? I'd rather not buy it...

As far as I know companies aren't giving them away...but they are offering free upgrades if you purchase a new computer that has Vista since Windows 7 comes out October 22. Honestly Windows 7 is great...unlike most Windows upgrades, this one doesn't require more memory. It's very stable, user friendly, and that annoying user account control from Vista is easier to turn off. The whole OS is very intuitive.
