Golden Sunrise nodded, understanding how Cheveyo had felt. Though she hadn't been abandoned by a herd because her mother had been a wanderer, she could relate. It was unlikely they would have been standing there talking if she hadn't been found and cared for.
"Staying with the humans is like staying with a herd, in a way," she said, thinking about it. "They like living together like most of us do."
She followed Cheveyo into the trees with her odd three-legged gait. She had to bounce on her front leg a little to keep moving forward. Looking at her then, one wouldn't have known she was actually a great sprinter.
"The forest is so pretty..." GS said quietly, looking up at the trees.

Cheveyo nodded his head. "Indeed it would seem that way." He paused for a moment as he took in the surroundings of the woods. "It's nice and relaxing in here." He nipped at some grass. "Sort of clears your mind here, wouldn't you agree?"

"Yeah, it does. You can just relax and think here." She bounded towards the stream and took a quick drink, then turned around and lay underneath a tall tree. "No predators come here, so it is very safe." GS wondered to herself for a moment, then spoke again. "I think that's what happened to me. I think I was attacked by something... I mean, I don't remember, but it would make sense. I got hurt and couldn't find my mother." She shook her head, unsure of why she brought that up.

Cheveyo swallowed the grass he had. "You were attacked?" He cocked his head to the side. He was going to ask if that's why she had a leg missing, but thought it best not to ask incase if it was a sensitive issue.

"Yeah. That's what I think anyways. I think I may have hit my head too, I remember so little." GS felt good now that she was taking a rest and moved a little to make herself comfortable. "Then again, I'm not sure if I want to remember. Right now I don't remember being in pain... I'm scared to remember what it felt like," she admitted, looking up at Cheveyo. "But memories are what make us who we are..."

Cheveyo listened to everything she talked about. "You're actually quite strong mentally. Some horses can't take mental anguish or pain and it takes them years or sometimes they never recover from it. Mental wounds heal less quickly then a flesh wound." He looked around for fruit trees being the gentleman he tried to be. "Would you like any fruit or food? Then we can just sit here and talk."

"You think so?" Golden Sunrise looked up at Cheveyo with a smile. She didn't think of herself as a strong mare, but he was probably right. He was right about physical wounds healing much quicker than mental ones, too.
"I'd love fruit, if you don't mind..." She blushed a little, not used to asking others to get things for her. But she didn't want to move from her comfy spot quite yet.

Cheveyo nodded his head. "Yes." He had a light smile on. "Ok then." He then went off in the distance for a while to find some good fruit. In about a couple of minutes he came back with some apples. "Here we are. I hope that's enough. There's also a stream nearby here if you want a drink, or if you like to swim."

Golden Sunrise waited patiently, letting the sun warm her back. It didn't take long for Cheveyo to return. her face lit up immediately.
"Apples! I love apples, thank you!" She took one and took a bite. "I don't think I've ever tried to swim, to be honest."

Cheveyo cocked his head. "Really? It's not too hard, although if you're just learning it's best to stay in the shallows." He took a bite of another apple. "But you probably knew that? It's more common sense." He nervously chuckled a bit. "Anyways would you want to swim or wade in the water?"

"Alright, I guess I won't learn if I never try." Golden Sunrise finished off her snack and got back to her hoofs without much difficulty. "Wading sounds fun but... I think I'm a bit too unbalanced for swimming." She giggled sheepishly, looking at Cheveyo from an angle. "Lead the way?"

Cheveyo lightly laughed. "Alright then. That sounds fine to me." He then got up after eating and headed off into the woods. "There's a river near here. It's not too bad and it's not too moving so it's not like it would wash you down the river." After a while they arrived. "Well...here we are." The area was pretty much secluded. Not many creatures came here and whatever ones did were pretty skittish. Cheveyo took a drink of water. "It's nice and cold, but I wouldn't say too bad."

Golden Sunrise followed along, keeping up a good pace. She looked at the water curiously. It was a quiet place, and Golden Sunrise could feel the calm atmosphere surrounding them. It sure was a change from being in the center of the herds. Even the water seemed to be calm.
"It looks... refreshing," she said with a light giggle, dipping her muzzle in for a drink. It was nice and cool. Then she stood for a moment, unsure of what to do with herself, before she stepped forward and into the water. "This feels strange," she remarked as a cool sensation swirled around her hoofs.

Cheveyo chuckled a bit as he entered the water. "It is, but if its a hot day normally this is nice and refreshing." He splashed with one of his hooves. "At least it's not raining or it would be really cold here."
(I'm sorry for the short response...I'm on a brain fart DX)
