Well, I've been a dance teacher for 4 weeks now. And I have 2 more weeks left of my first session.
My single student class has grown, and I now have 3 and a potential 4th starting at the new 6 weeks.
My two new students are adorable. 19 and 18...so the youngest students in Shuvani Dance Studio.
They're too funny. One does hip movements like you wouldnt believe. She's really good...she could even shimmy right away. The other does chest movements REALLY well...and of course, they both want to do what the other does better. Poor things came in on "choreography" week, so they had to jump right in and dance with only a little explanation, but they did great!
I even got some rockin' compliments. They were both super excited that I was going to be their teacher for as long as they take the class, and both told me I'm a great teacher. ^_^ My other student sat down with me after class and told me how much she's enjoying taking classes from me. She said she's getting so much more from my class because I'm very hands on, and my teacher is more show you the move.
I'm so happy. ^_^ Yay! I'm starting to look for a studio around here to start up classes local. Driving down to Akron (45 minutes) every week is such a pain. lol

it will be tough but then again that could be just me.
when my teacher started, she had a tough time cuz everyone just wanted to jump into choreography, forget technique
not only that, she chose a bad location i think. she was out on the main street but now she's hidden, but what ever floats her boat.
i wish you lots of luck. i'll get there some day but i rather float around the US and europe before setteling down to teach.
