it would be really cool/weird/awesome/PWNAGED to be able to race as some FE characters in like mario cart or something

Sorry about the double post...
and, you're write. Plus, the mario world characters would declare war after the wyverns ate people, and then we'd have a full blown war on our hands. Maybe they're better off just appearing in Smash Bros Brawl and stuff.
