Tiger's Pride...

Jessie's tail flicked in aggravation. Clearly he could see that she was coming now. Quite honestly he hadn't expected the move from the dryte wrench. Coming to them, honestly it was so odd for a dryte to do so. However, for some reason he felt the edge of his hate for her kind and the fury that she had gotten so close to his home smoothing over. Pheromones. So she was trained in the succubus ways. He watched her for a moment before morphing back to his normal state. Cold blue eyes watched her, holding back sneers and cold words that he could have thrown at her. Losing his temper and betraying his people's sense of security in him was not an option. Not when they were so desperate to even start to listen to a Dryte. He sighed "Mistress, your kind has only been known to bring darkness, your deal would only lead us to the edge, and you would oh so kindly push us right off" he said confidently, being polite only to keep the sharp edge of his tone off slightly, as much as he despised her, his parents had raised to treat ladies with respect. Even if this one let herself be seen as a common whore...

❤But seduction isn’t making someone do what they don’t want to do.

Seduction is enticing someone into doing what they secretly want to do already. ❤

If there was one thing Selene loved, really felt attracted to, it was someone who treated her like a lady. Hell, someone who treated her like something other than scum was always nice really. Too many people did that, either because she was Dryte or because she used seductive arts for both pleasure and business. Now, she had grown accustomed to rudeness. It not longer really bothered her at all. That said, politeness was a bit of a turn on of sorts. His words, despite the fact that they were turning her own and hinting at her horrible nature, still struck her as awfully nice. Especially since they were enemies from birth by destiny. She ran her tongue lazily over her lips. Another nice thing was that he realized that he couldn't trust her. Even the idea of Light, which had worked so well over his precious Kingdom, seemed to have little effect on his decision or judgement.

"Oh~" she cooed, kicking her legs up behind her and propping her chin on her hands. "Now don't get me wrong, Mr. Important. Of course, your Kingdom will still be crushed eventually, but it would be crushed last."

She smirked, tone growing lower and enticing. It made people lean in to hear it better, and it prevented them from backing away. Voice was such an important tool of hers. Maybe even more important than her body.

"But my promise of Light isn't false. Shoot me dead here if it is. You'll get Light here, just like there used to be. You know that your kind needs it. Just think: you'd get safety, warmth, more time to work, more food could be grown, and well...I'm sure there are other things you require light for." Selene didn't know much outside the basics. The Dryte despised Light. It burnt them and hurt their delicate eyes. They didn't require it for food like the silly others did. Their diet was much different, consisting of night herbs and things most others considered poisonous. "Now doesn't that sound nice?"

She saw a few heads nod ever so slightly. Undoubtedly, they hadn't done it on purpose. Her offer was tempting, she knew. After years of Darkness, everyone outside the Dryte wanted a bit of sunshine here and there. "All of that for the very small price of living peaceful, quiet lives, without meddeling within the affairs of others."

~Fear Favor~
Again, there was no doubt about this one. This eerie figure was definitely a Warrior of Darkness. Lynne knew just exactly how to distinguish them from anyone else, being a Hero of Light. Of course, if one knew about the warriors, he or she, too, would immediately recognize their demeanor and appearance and say, "Warrior of Darkness", or whatever it was they could say before it was too late.

The ominous man had asked Lynne a question he had almost anticipated. He asked for his name... This drew the boy's attention away from the strange wolves. He was bewildered enough by the warrior's abrupt appearance. He still thought to himself, "How in the world did he find me so fast...?" But, unfortunately, there was too little time to ponder over that. Lynne's eyes were shifty. He took a quick breath and answered confidently. "My name is Lynne, and that's all you need to know, Warrior of Darkness." He stated, having gripped his small weapon with both hands.

In times of conflict, the fairy often forgot about his magic. Not his healing magic, but his white magic in general, which made the difference almost always. Though his uncle focused on teaching him healing magic most of the time, occasional offensive white magic was instructed to the boy. Obviously, Lynne adored defense and "restoration"... but too much. Even he would become frustrated with himself, slamming his fist onto the ground with the thought, "I'm such a coward!" There were thousands of possibilities, maybe even more, that the fairy could pull off, but his creativity with white magic, offensive in general, lacked behind his healing, which was already crossed the finish line and beyond wherever that lead in simpler terms...

All of this flickered in Lynne's mind repeatedly in split seconds. He noted the wolves. Spectral summons: easily eradicable with an offensive spell called Ostracism. Point Swap, too. That would act as a quick shift in spots with any other solid being within a certain proximity. It was basically a quick teleportation spell. Another very creative method was what Lynne named Puppeteering, which allowed him to force others to use his magic in any way he desired... But drat. This man was already obviously very graceful and skilled in the arts of some type of magic. He could just un-invoke the Puppeteered spell. Those foolish with magic would not know. Plus, he sided with darkness. That kind of ability could backfire... Then he remembered the squirrel... It must have retreated into its hollow hole, or maybe it was still on its way home. Either way, Lynne acquainted the small animal. He had met it, and almost befriended it. He hated to do this, because he knew the little animal might have to suffer for him, although Lynne's love of magic, his aim of magic, was to be creative.

Again, Lynne knew that squirrel. He almost knew exactly where he was, and did know exactly what he was going to do. He quickly raised his wand into the air, still holding it with both hands. A flash of light abets Lynne's words, "Point Swap! The make-up of this spell, housed in his head. Within less than a split-second, Lynne is gone, but the teleportation is not "lightspeed" fast. The two essences were required to pass by each other just slow enough for that beloved creativity to come into play. As the two now invisible, yet much alive, beings passed by, Lynne channeled a quick spell into the squirrel's mind. Ostracism. The squirrel appeared in a similar flash of blinding light, Pupeteered to use Ostracism. As awkward as it looked, the animal emits a visible wave of azure light. Once this light made contact with the spectral wolves, it was goodbye...

Just as the now innocent animal had done a second after, Lynne scrammed through the forest in a miscellaneous direction...

Jet stopped walking. He looked up at the roofs and saw two Animatas standing together. Jet cocked his head at the two and thought briefly to himself, what if one of them two were the Hero of Light for this kingdom. So, Jet decided to start walking again over to them till he heard a voice. He turned around and looked up, a Dryte, a female one too.

It was bad enough that this Kingdom was going to be under attack, but it seems she topped it off, making an offer that most people would jump at, at any given chance. Jet knew that if his kingdom was asked this question, they would jump on it straight away. Seeing as they are forest fairies, they need light to live and get their food. So Jet was not too sure how bad this Kingdom needed light, he guessed he would have to wait and see.

Jet ran a hand through his hair and looked up at the other two. Both were good looking, and he had never met an Animata before, and heard of them, but they were both good looking. Jet yawned and sighed, starting to hover with his small dark feathery wings, small speckles of black dust fluttered around his wings and feet. He really could not be bothered with standing right then, he had been standing around for most of the day, so it was time to let his feet take a rest.

Tiger's Pride...

Jessie had much training in all his senses, so even with her lowering tone he didn't have to focus much more than he would more than usual, although his ears swiveled slightly more in her direction instead of on the other noises about them. He listened to her patiently before turning and motioning for one of the guards to come over. The eagle Animata did so sluggishly, but sped up as Jessie growled deeply at him.

"Yes sir?" he asked his tone crisp.

"Retrieve Lord Bejin" he instructed "He should be in the citadel."

"Yes sir!" the Animata explained, transforming and flying off to the citadel.

Jessie returned his full attention to the dryte woman "Lady, I'm afraid that I have neither the authority or the expertise to decide your words can be trusted or not, Lord Bejin will decide whether or not your words can be trusted." What the dryte couldn't know, what that Jessie had picked the hardest to deal with noble in the city. Most people were pulling their hair out just by the time he had finished a sentence.

"Love? Compassion? Ahaha, please..."

░▒▓│ Like Dust Riding the Wind │▓▒░

As the boy thrust his wand into the air and vanished, the man's smirk returned, even as a felt the slight wave of energy that whisped his summoned wolves away like dust in the wind. He chuckled a bit to himself while the flesh and bone wolves glanced around themselves, a bit uneasy at the sudden disappearance of their faux kin. After a few moments though, they regained their senses, and one instantly shot out to snatch the squirrel (Squire II) in his jowls, instantly degenerating it to mulch and wolf food.

The wolf twitched a bit and made a questioning 'mrowl' as his head was gently patted by the shaman, who had slowly walked up to him in the time it took him to devour the small forest animal. At the smile he received from the man, the canine whimpered a bit, sub-consciously knowing what was going to happen. The shaman chuckled again, lifting his head to look in the direction that he felt the fairy to have gone. He closed his eyes again as power began to surge through him.

The wolf's companions watched in fascinated horror as they saw that same turquoise aura of energy surround the shaman's hand on their pack mate's head. The wolf whimpered and whined as he felt pressure on his skull, but the man paid him no mind. His whimpers and whines quickly turned to yelps and cries of agony, his eyes rolling back in his head and his paws scraping desperately against the dirt ground. Yowls of pain echoed through the forest as the wolf's muscles visibly began to shrink away, his fur and skinning beginning to dissolve not long after.

Within the span of about a minute, the hand left the canine, the animal falling to the ground. Or rather, the animal's skeleton, as nothing else was left of it. It was most certainly dead; and in every sense of the word. Then again, that's what the purpose of Consume was, was it not? Sacrifice the life of a living being to replace lost energy and increase magic prowess? Yes, that's exactly what it's purpose was. The shaman smiled wide again, opening his eyes and looking around at the wolves around him. As they all whined, he chuckled.

"Mm. Do not worry. His should sustain my magic enough to spare your lives... For now. However, if you fail me in what I have next for you and live, what you will endure will be much worse than any death that the enemy could inflict upon you. And much more merciless than this." He pointed at the skeleton beside him, causing the wolves to whine again. "Good to see I am understood... Now, wait for me at the edge of the forest. We will assist in the capture of the second Animata kingdom once my current duty is fulfilled... Now go!" Instantly, the pack dispersed in the direction he had specified.

He watched them for a few moments, remaining in the center of the clearing as darkness now embraced him. It wouldn't be long before the Animata denied the Dryte seductress' 'offer'. And then the carnage would begin. And he couldn't wait to join in. But first, however, he must deal with the fairy.

"Light," he said softly, the small ferret quickly finding its way out of the folds of his cloaks to rest on his shoulder again. The small creature tilted its head at its master, who smiled wide in return. "The fairy. Find him. Befriend him if you can. But keep your eyes on him at all times." The ferret nodded quickly, scrambling off of the man and off into the forest after the small boy, leaving the shaman to smile wide after him before turning slowly and beginning to walk off after the wolves...

"You can run, little Lynne. But my minions can run faster. You can hide... But my minions know every single corner of darkness on this world. You will be found. You will be caught. And perhaps most importantly... You -will- be killed..." He threw his head back and laughed into the darkness...

"I have much more important things to do with my time..."

He was still being polite. The thought amazed her. She had expected for that to stop with her slick talks of a deal. Surely he should have gotten angry with her. Instead, he merely called another person over. A good looking eagle animata. A bit too short for her preference, but not short enough to really fall under the 'adorably tiny' category. Not to mention he was a slow mover. That very rarely translated well under the sheets. He flew off, undoubtedly to go and fetch this Lord Bejin that Jessie was speaking of.

Immediatly she became suspicious. "Of course. I'm sure he'll appreciate the offer." And maybe much more.

Nobles, by nature, were usually corupt, especially those who had power in political decisions. While they often thought about what was good for their Kingdom, they were also easy to sway. A few concentrated phermones, opposed to the general ones she gave out now, and he'd be doing half of anything she asked. She was willing to bet that much. To prepare, she carefully began to let out more of her seductive magic. It wasn't nearly potent enough to change people's deep rooted opinons or seduce them, but it was enough to slowly ebb away at the edginess of the people.

In fact, she was pretty sure that her goal was slowly being accomplished. She could see weapons lower more, and arms and legs go slack and relaxed. There were even a few people, younger teenagers, who seemed to be eyeing her body a bit. That hadn't been her intention, but she could understand where it came from. They were already hormonal and looking and other's bodies naturally. It had only taken the slighest of all pushes for them to get rid of their disgust of her and admire her curves as they would if she were of some other Kingdom.
