An Unexpected Encounter

Dawn, Ash & Brock were heading to Canaclave City after leaving it for one of Dawn's pokemon contests. Ash wanted to battle the steel gym leader and receive his sixth gym badge. The forest was quiet and peaceful, and Dawn was humming along to a tune. Suddenly the silence was broken with a huge scream. "What the?!" Ash exclaimed, almost falling over. Suddenly there was a rustle in the bushes ahead of them. "Ssh! The bushes!" Dawn hissed, forgetting about Ash and the scream. The trio stayed silent until a Glameow exited the bush. Dawn's eyes lit up. "Wow! Another glameow! It might be Zoey's!" she said, beginning to approach it. "Hold Up Dawn, that might not be Zoey's glameow, I heard there was alot of wild glameows in this area." Brock said. Dawn haulted. Suddenly a Luxray, giraffarig and Rapidash jumped from the bushes. "Wow! A Rapidash!" Dawn said, sending out her pokedex. "Cool! A Giraffarig!" Ash said, sending out his pokedex aswell. After the quick information given to them by the pokedexs, a girl with a Riolu and Aquzmarril came out. "Come on guys! I didn't mean to scream that loud! I mean, I was just so happy Mitzy finally evolved from Marill!" she explained. "Excuse me, but who are you?" Ash asked. The girl spun around. "I'm Twilana, Twilly for short... and I see you've met my Luxray, Glameow, Rapidash & Girrafarig!" she introduced. She smiled friendly. "I'm Dawn and this is piplup!" Dawn said. "Piplup!" Piplup said happily. "I'm Ash, and this is pikachu." Ash said. "Pika Pikachu!" Pikachu called from Ash's shoulder. "and I'm Brock." Brock added to the introduction. Twilly raised her eyebrow. "No pokemon to introduce or anything?" she added. Brock shook his head. "Oh Well." Twilly said in an up-beat tone. "So, were you the one who screamed before?" Dawn asked. Twilly's face went red. "Yeah... I was..." she admitted. "Er, why did you scream?" Dawn asked. "Well, I was just so happy Mitzy evolved!" Twilly said in excitement. Ash raised his eyebrow. "Who is Mitzy?" he asked. Twilly laughed like he had just asked the dumbest question in the world. "Mitzy is my aquzmarril!" she said, holding up a very happy looking aquzmarril. "Ash, some trainers do like to name their pokemon." Brock said a-matter-of-factly. Twilly nodded. "That's true! My Luxray is Jinxy, My riolu is Rizzle, my glameow is Glitter, my rapidash is Blaze and my giraffarig is Garu." she said. "Whoa." Dawn gaped. Twilly smiled. "Anyway, I'm heading to Canaclave city for my 6th gym badge." she said. Ash smiled. "Me too!" he said. "Why don't we travel together?" Brock said, being an optimist. "Wait until you try Brock's food, it's fantastic." Dawn told Twilly. Twilly beamed. "Sounds great!" she said.


After trekking together, with Twilly going on and on about her battles & contests (she did both), Brock decided to set-up camp for the night. "This place looks great!" Ash said, walking into a clearing. Twilly looked at them in horror. "You camp out?!" she exclaimed. "And you don't?" Dawn replied. "Um, no... I usually sleep at the nearest pokemon center or motel." Twilly said smugly. "Ah, don't worry, you'll be fine Twilly!" Ash said, patting Twilly on the head like she was 5. "The first time camping is always fun!" Dawn agreed, joining Ash with patting Twilly on the head. "Stop patting me on the head!" Twilly muttered. "Come on out Guys!" Ash said, moving away from Twilly and sending out his pokemon. "You also!" Dawn said, sending out her pokemon. Twilly squealed. "Oh my gosh! You have a buneary?! It's so adorable!" she said, giving the unsuspecting buneary a huge hug. "Yeah.. Buneary was the first pokemon I caught." Dawn said. "My first caught pokemon was my Luxray, but back when I caught it, it was only a shinx." Twilly said. "Well, this camp isn't going to set up itself!" Brock interrupted. "Oh right!" Dawn said, embarrassed. "Come on out everyone!" Brock said, sending out his pokemon. Twilly was a little shocked that he only had 3, but she kept quiet about it. "Come out, it's time for a show!" Twilly said, spinning, then letting out her pokemon. "Luxray!" "Rapi!" "Meow..." "Azaza" "Ri Riolu!" "Girraff!" Her pokemon said. "Whoa, you have a riolu?!" Ash said. Twilly pulled an unimpressed expression. "You didn't see Rizzle before? She was standing right next to me!" Twilly said. Rizzle nodded in agreement. Ash blushed. "Oh right..." he said. Twilly laughed and left Ash.

"Dinner time anyone?" she asked her pokemon. She bent on her knees and pulled some food out of her bag. "Twilly don't worry about feeding your pokemon tonight!" Brock said from behind her. Twilly jumped. "Ah! Ok! Don't scare me like that anymore!" she said. Brock shrugged it off and went back to cooking. Twilly re-packed her bag and looked around camp. Her pokemon seemed to be getting along with the others. She nodded in happiness. Twilly noticed Ash and Dawn setting up sleeping bags and a tent. "Er, where do I sleep?" she asked them. Ash and Dawn looked at each other. "BROCK!" they both said in union. "Yes?" Brock replied. "Where is Twilly going to sleep tonight?" they said. Twilly put her hand on her face. "Oy vey..." she muttered to herself. "Dawn, you care share your tent!" Brock suggested. "Ok!" Dawn said happily.
