CONGRATS! biggrin I play first clarinet and am first chair too. If there is a mistake in my section, I usually get blamed for it sweatdrop But first is so much fun!...with all its high notes and great tunes! xd But then again, I've been playing first since I joined the band, which was about 4 years ago. Solos aren't that bad, even if you make a mistake, just keep going. biggrin

Way to go, I've been first-chair-clarinet ever since I started playing.

Congrats...I was 3rd/2nd chair clarinet during concert season sweatdrop cause I switched from alto sax to clarinet because there were too many altos and not enough clarinets, but I'm switching back to alto sax after one concert season as a clarinet xp

macbrat2701 6th-9th grade I played 3rd, my section leader's friends didn't like me, however I was upgraded to 2nd my 10th and half my 11th grade year, now its my senior year and I almost wish I was back on 3rd its easier and I don't need to know a high F, that is why I will be playing an alto clarinet in wind ensemble. hopefully if we still have it. Your section leader decides what part you play?

I don't want to be first clarinet, my mom will be able to take more pictures in concerts, and yes that is a real reason to hide in the 2nds
