okay, power tools's effect says that if it were to be destroyed, I can destroy a equip card in its stead. Now, if my opponent activates soul exchange, does power tool get destroyed, or does it stay? And if it stays, does the monster intended to be summoned through soul exchange get summoned?
Soul Exchange doesn't destroy a monster. It allows your opponent to tribute one monster of their choice on your side of the field. Tributing a monster and destroying it are not the same thing. Power Tool Dragon's effect cannot save him from Soul Exchange.
