Name: Theron
Age: 19
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: Mostly Uninterested
Craft: Ahahahahahaha. No.
Rank: Candidate
Physical Description: Theron would cut an imposing figure if he actually dressed like the average candidate. Now, don’t get us wrong, he doesn’t project a feminine figure. Theron comes in just shy of six feet. A tan young man, his black hair comes midway down his neck and he ties it up in a loose ponytail. (Yeah, it’s styled, but don’t you ever accuse of that.) His eyes are hazel and he has a bit of stubble on his chin. He’s muscular, but he’s lithe, which does take away from the intimidation factor.
Of course, the way he dresses isn’t exactly threatening, either. Theron keeps up with the fashions. He can, after all. With the Weyrman and Weyrwoman for parents, he can have anything he wants…so he does. He dresses very well and takes care to match his outfits. Never, ever seen without his colors, Theron actually wears a handful of bandannas. Always one around each wrist and one around his neck, he also wears one over his hair now and then. He’s also been known to tie one around his pant leg in a sudden lack of taste.
Personality: Theron’s life revolves around Rising Sun. Spectacularly single-minded, he only has one goal in life and everything he does is geared towards it. His motivation and drive do not have ‘off switches’; Theron just goes and goes until he drops or the task at hand has been conclude. Aware of his nature, he tries screen his steps (towards the ultimate goal) to keep himself from biting off more than he can chew. That said, Theron’s pride can allow him to be goaded into challenges he wouldn’t take up all at once otherwise. Igen will frost over before he admits that, of course.
He projects the image of being infallible. Last child of his family, that is what Theron is expected to be. As much as he resents being held to comparison, he’s not about to shy away. Determined as he is motivated, Theron is out to prove he doesn’t need his family. He does, in fact, indulge in his family’s wealth and power as his wardrobe suggests, but he absolutely insists he is judged on his own merits. Theron’s shortcomings (if they actually existed) are his own and all his accomplishments are his own as well. He accomplishes a lot, as he well intends to. Dramatically more motivated than his older brother, Th’ran, Theron obviously stands much more a change of taking Weyr leadership if he Impressed a bronze
This, however, is not something Theron is certain he can accomplish. The leadership is in the bag, if Rising Sun is any example, but the bronze, most certainly, is not. Only one of four brothers managed to Impress one, and if Th’ran is any example, there is absolutely no accounting for a dragon’s taste. He’s stood on the Sands for six turns now, and Theron’s confidence has faltered. No one knows, no one will ever know, but turns of building himself up and away from everyone has left him without a support system. Now, if Theron actually failed to Impress, that is how his life would be, and the boy is determined to adapt.
Naturally, Theron is good with people. He has to be. His life revolves around, and depends on, politics. He tells people what they want to hear and keeps all his relationships his little black book. Said black book is a ledger and contains Theron’s entire life. Every relationship Theron has is purely business. He is a business man, after all, and he thinks of nothing but. Women are Fanigan’s thing, not his. If directly offered, he’d accept (unless it put a business relationship at risk), but he would not look for anything otherwise. Theron is loyal only to himself and while he generally makes a point to keep his own safe, he has no problem throwing a lesser gang member under the bus to get him where he needs to go.
Everything Theron is, Rising Sun is. With all the power resting in his family’s hands, he sits on the precarious edge of everything to gain and everything to lose. Never one to sit back and let life happen, Theron is marching forward. Come what may.
History: Born to the two most powerful people in Igen Weyr, Theron has never been left wanting. Well, for anything material, that is. As the youngest member of his family, he’s fallen off the wagon as far as attention is concerned. Th’ran has always been the apple of his mother’s eye and E’ron looks out for Ether, the others are left to deal. Since he’s known nothing else, he assumes this is how life goes.
Raised with all the other weyrbrats, it was only natural that Theron get taken into his family’s gang as soon as he was old enough. He took up the leadership from a distant cousin at the tender age of fourteen with three older brothers watching over his shoulder to make sure he didn’t mess things up. From then on, Theron was driven like his life has depended on it. The past six years have consisted of standing and being left on the Sands, and dominating the other factions.
Pets: None
Other/Talents: Theron is actually a very decent and is known from his wall-scrawls. He marks his ‘territory’ with bright orange letters, but he’s been known to do actual artwork, as well.
