Belle swiveled in the Captain's chair. One of the perks to being a night owl, she thought. The Enterprise seemed quiet, almost as though there was just a skeleton crew aboard. But she knew better. Sitting there, she thought about the events that lead to her becoming a member of the Enterprise. How, at her mother's suggestion for a way to "let out your creative energies that I just can't deal with," she joined Starfleet. It wasn't a career she would have thought herself in, but when she joined, she found herself actually enjoying herself, for once, without getting into any amounts of trouble. During the beginner's courses, she seemed to find her calling in computers. she was pretty handy with her set of tools, and somehow seemed able to figure out the problem just by looking at it. She smiled to herself. Of course, the one ship that would need a person like that would be the Federation's flagship, so, naturally, she was placed on the Enterprise.

 Christine Chapel. . .Christine Chapel was down in sick bay taking care of patients. There was never a time for rest in the medical field, though she had gotten used to it. Being a nurse had not been her original choice of a career, but she had learned to love the profession. She liked to help others and this was a fine way to do it. She walked over to one of the beds where a engineer had received severe burns on his hands from a machine malfunction. He was sleeping so she took great care not to wake him when she checked his burns. They were healing nicely. She smiled and wrote down the progress on her clipboard and moved over to her desk. The Nurse sat down at her desk thinking about how quiet sick bay seemed to be during the late hours of the Enterprise. Head Nurse of the USS Enterprise

Belle got up and left the bridge, If she was going to be up this late, she might as well do something useful. She wandered down to Sick bay to find Nurse Chapel sitting at her desk.
"Excuse me, Miss Chapel? Do you need any help down here? She asked.

Christine Chapel. . . Christine Chapel looked up at the sound of Belle's voice. She was excited to know that she was no longer the only person awake in sick bay. The quiet was starting to get unbearable. "Keeping me company while I file these papers would be plenty of help, if you are up to it." she smiled.Head Nurse of the USS Enterprise

Belle smiled. "Sure. Who's all in here?" She asked, while grabbing a stack of papers to help sort.

Christine Chapel. . . "Not to many people," she admitted looking around at the few occupied beds, "just a couple of minor injuries here and their that we are observing over night. I am not sure if we will see Doctor McCoy this evening. He has been working very hard and should be getting some rest at the moment," she said as she pulled open one of the filing cabinets and put some patient files back in their places. Though she couldn't help but think that they would end up catching a glimpse of the good Doctor later in the night. She hoped that she was wrong. He deserved some rest after having to deal with so many patients all day long. Head Nurse of the USS Enterprise

Belle grinned a little. McCoy was the best surgeon in starfleet, but he did tend to overwork himself. She couldn't help but slightly wish he would pop in for a bit, though. Things always seemed to perk up when Bones was in.

Suddenly, the Enterprise was jolted by something. Belle fell off the desk and onto the floor.
"What was that?"she asked, while picking herself up.

Christine Chapel. . . Chapel fell forwards catching herself on her desk,"I am not sure," she said righting herself just to be knocked over again with another jolt. Christine shot a worried glance at Jezabelle. She made her way over to the patients who had been awoken to assure them that they must stay put. The nurse turned to Jezabelle, "can you hand me that hypospray on the desk?"she said pointing to the anesthezine. Head Nurse of the USS Enterprise

Belle handed Chapel the Hypospray."I'm going to go see what's happening on the bridge"she said as she headed for the door. While she was in the turbolift, the ship was hit again.Damn she thought. fine time for an attack she left the turbolift and entered the bridge to see the last thing any starfleet officer wanted to see: an unknown alien ship firing on you.

Mr. Scott dropped his salami sandwich back onto his plate and rushed out the door he was running back to the Engineering deck. His break had lasted far too long and he still had to check all of the fuel cells.

Belle went over to the chair and hit the comm button Attention, all crew members. we are currently being attacked. if any of the higher ranking officers are awake, could you please come to the bridge. If the captain wants to discipline me for doing this, so be it she thought to herself. Somebody had to alert the crew.
