At some point during his speech, Raven had stopped breathing. He really does like me, her mind kept saying, her hand squeezing his as she let that sink in. He was worried about her... he wanted to be with her... and she found that goofy smile spreading across her face again as she looked up at him.
"I already know about the Fa'e... and that things around them are never very dull for long. I'm cool with that. And I promise that no matter what happens, I'll never let you worry about me. I don't make a habit of immersing myself into trouble... I can't move things with my mind or fight like Omi can. I don't have a metal body to keep me safe. I don't have anything special at all, really... and I know when I need to duck and cover, and just stay out of the way."
She took a deep breath then, sighing inwardly. "So... if you don't mind having a fuzzball hanging on your arm and occasionally reminding you that there's more to life than just the worrisome things... I'm more than willing to stick around. I like being around you, and I'm tired of just being friends when I know that there's more to my feelings for you than just friendship."

"Im not especially good at keeping myself safe, metal body or not." He muttered. "Or to remember that that's more to life that bad things. And that you've got to take chances to see the good things, sometimes." Of course, it was all easy to say now...
...Logic just plain flew out the window at that moment. It was hard to make his brain shut up, but damn if he wasn't trying now. "I just know I want you to be happy more than anything I've ever wanted. If that's going to happen with you being by my side... Then that's okay with me." He'd worry about the storms when - and if - they came.

Raven breathed a sigh of relief at that, giving his hand a gentle tug. "Can you come over here?" she asked, crooking a finger on her free hand to motion him closer. "I would really like to give you a kiss right now... but if I try to come over there, I'll likely regret moving that way."
Nothing like getting everything out all at once. At some point, she was going to look back at this and decide that painkillers were the bane of her existence... or at least of her better judgement. Still, her better judgement would have left her sitting here wondering where she stood. So it couldn't be that bad.

...Well, s**t.
It wasn't that he minded the thought, but it was more like the fact that he had... never quite kissed anyone before, had never thought he would, and he was rather afraid of doing it work. Stop it, it's not like you'll break her.
He did get closer, however, definitively close enough, but he stilled right in front of her. Let her come to him. Yep, sounded like a good plan.
Maybe.

Raven lifted herself up just a bit, allowing her to take her free hand and cup it behind Sei's neck. She drew him closer then, letting her lips press against his own. She wasn't exactly experienced in this, either... but was more than willing to learn. As far as she was concerned, they hadn't rammed into each other's noses, so that was one hurdle overcome.

One hand went to grap the side of the bed as she pulled him closer, more so out of worry that he might fall all over her with his sense of balance so off-tilted. It was very hard to tell when they were actually kissing, due to well... being so close that he couldn't really tell a damn thing. This was awkward, even for one who was used to go though daily life without feeling anything as far as physical sensations go. This wasn't making him have much reaction to it, obviously, but he was trying his damnedness not to have it be the same the other way around.
...In a I have no damn idea what im doing kind of way.

Raven didn't mind... it wasn't as if she had a clue either. Still, she let the kiss break, then smiled to him, letting the short-tipped claws on her fingers trace against his cheek for a moment. "Thanks," she murmured, now glad that at least she'd experienced this with him. He didn't seem too sure of it, but that was all right. One step at a time.

"Hmm." Rather vague, perhaps, but nothing much was making it's way though his mind right now. Beside the fact that he did not especially want to move at the moment, so he nested himself on the side of the bed, careful not to sit all over her. He was happy at the moment... Happier than he remembered being for a long time.
...If he had even had an inching this could have a possibility of happening, he could have brought roses...
But then, suddenly, he went silent. Everything snapped into his mind. "Oh, damnit. Damnit. She knew." He could barely repress the aquired urge to facepalm, as futile as such a gesture was. "Zero told me to bring flowers. And she was smirking every second of it."
He was so getting drilled for juicy bits once he went home.

Snickering softly, Raven just settled against him, letting her eyes half close. This may not wind up too badly. After all, he wasn't running for the hills, and she was pretty certain she looked like hell at the moment. If he could deal with her like this, then the rest would be cake. "She knew," she agreed, knowing that every parent seems to have that insight into their kid. "And if you want, I can go with you to meet her when I get out of here, too. If she's anything like my parents, she'll want to make sure that I'm not just a figment of your imagination."

He was quite certain that Zero was very aware Raven was not a figment of his imagination - not after he'd kept her up more than a few times by talking with her so loudly. "That'll be nice. I think dad will probably want to see you, too." If seeing him so old hadn't shellshocked his father away from him, he honestly doubted him acquiring a girlfriend would be the thing to do it.

"I'd like that," Raven murmured, her eyes starting to do the slow-blinks that she'd become accustomed to while on the painkillers. "I think, though, that the visit is going to become rather boring very shortly." As if accentuating this, a yawn left her and she snuggled up closer to Sei's side. "Can you at least stay until I fall asleep? I'm not going to be all sappy and ask you to stay longer, because watching me sleep is probably about as thrilling as seeing paint dry."

"I don't mind." He'd expected to stay most of the evening, at any rate, so it did not bother him in the least. He kind of wanted to smooth out her fur a little, but he did not quite trust himself to be able to untangle the knots and not hurt her at the same time. "Do you know when they're letting you out ? I can come pick you up if I don't work." Zero probably wouldn't mind him taking the car for that... At least he thought so.
As soon as she was done trying to drag the juicy bits of the encounter out of him, anyway.

Half smiling, Raven nodded. "They said I'd have to stay here for three days. Kendall said he'd ditch work to take me home if needed, but I wouldn't mind if you came too? Or if he can't get out of work. I don't like tying up his schedule then bailing out on him." She was comfortable like this... and enjoyed Sei's calming presence. Considering that she'd spent quite a while trying to reach that inner 'zen', where her temper would cease, this was a rather enlightening experience. "Thank you."

"We'll see. Ill come if I can." Sei said with a nod. " "If you need help once you're out, then... Ill'd have to see with Ken, but I think im due for taking a vacation before the year ends anyway." He had not especially planned on taking it, but now... It started to look more and more like a good idea.
