Hi there, I guess I am technically a newbie to the old of lolita I know a little bit about it but as much as I would like to I really want to get started on making a dress so I can actually have stuff to wear that is lolita styled. But I am not so good at just making a dress on que. If any of you know places where I can find patterns for simple lolita dresses that i can make to get myself started that would be totally awesome.

Oh also I want to get into learning how to crochet so if any of you might know some cute tutorials on things lolita styled in crochet I would be most interested in hearing about that too! Thanks.

I feel like a mod for saying check the link list/I can't believe you didn't check the link list (ooh, these giddy feelings! x3). No worries; what your looking for is in a sub forum. I'd head over to the "How to:" section of the guild; there you'll find the list of patterns you've been unknowingly looking for. Also, there's another sticky in there for knitting, crochet, and needlework.

Other than the patterns provided in the "How to:", I've come across a few myself I'm more than willing to share:
Simplicity 5006, Simplicity 6480, Simplicity 2620 -- If you're into the whole corset scene
Simplicity 2665 -- Vest F would be amazing for dandy, I'd love to try it someday
Simplicity 3673 -- An actual dress this time; if you need to, there won't be much alteration need to make Dress C loli
McCall M3609 -- substantial corset
McCall M3400 -- if you're in the mood for berets

It seems like the other patterns I have saved could already be found in the pattern thread. Good luck with whatever you try! ^-^

Oh, and I just found this post on EGL about indie pattern makers. Can someone please explain to me the use of the "indie" in that context? I hear it used frequently for music.

sorry about not checking those how to links before. I haven't been on gaia in months so some of the basic stuff with guilds and such I have kind of forgotten how to do everything with. But sorry for any inconvince. Just me acting before thinkin in the wee hours of the morning.
