"And why do you want to find monsters? You'd think a little lady like you would want to keep her distance from a cave like this," Asylum replied in a questioning tone, getting out one of his guns and loading it swiftly at the talk of monsters. He pulled the trigger experimentally, and swore savagely when it just made an empty click. "Damn it, it's too moist in these caves...my gunpowder is useless. I hope you have a weapon on you."

She pointed the flashlight at Asylum "First of all, I am not little and I'm not a Lady, a least not here. And yes I do." Cloe pulled out her sword, showing him. "And no, this isn't the only weapon I have right now." Cloe turned around, starting to walk when, "I love monsters, wheather friendly or not."

Asylum smiled and held up his hands in a defensive manner. "Alright, alright, I apologize." He then began following her, withdrawing a machete out of his coat and holding it at his side. "I'm glad you like monsters. Makes it easier to live in this world."

Asylum cleared his throat distractedly as a reply, not being able to find the words necessary right away. Cloe was right. Channeling fear into something useful is an extremely handy tactic, especially since there's so many things you can channel it INTO... Adrenaline...rage...intelligence...
"Have you ever needed to do just that?" Asylum inquired in a genuine tone, looking questioningly at Cloe.

"With monsters? No, I've never had the chance." she said as normal as possible. But had she with something else? Yes, and it was back in a dark part of her life.

"Oh?" Asylum inquired with a quirked eyebrow, looking over his shoulder at Cloe. "And what kind of monster would that be? A murderer, perhaps?"

Cloe sniffled. "Ya. You could say he was a mass murderer". As she spoke a tear fell. 'I am so glad he can't see my face.'

Asylum immediately regretted ever saying anything as he heard the sniffle, and his right eye could barely catch a shine on her cheek. He put an arm around her and hugged slightly, acting very unlike his normal self. "I'm sorry, Cloe," he said apologetically, sounding genuine.

Cloe knew Asylum never hugged people so she apprecaited it deeply. "No, it's ok. I need to toughen up. I have to accept that he can't be stopped."
Talking about her past gave her so much pain, such a sence on loss, she felt like breaking down but she couldn't, not here, not when she was with someone.

Asylum let his arm fall away from Cloe's shoulders and put his hands in his pockets, continuing to walk on. "So...would it hurt you too much too elaborate on this guy? I know it's a lot to ask, and if you're not comfortable talking about it, I'll drop it..."
