Axel stands at a solid 6'1 with a toned muscular build and long spiky red hair that reaches down just above his shoulder blades near the nape of his neck. He is well built and athletic looking and has a warm and charming smile, when he chooses to show it. He has piercing red eyes and a small 'X' shaped scar on his left cheek.

Personality: Axel is something of an odd duck, being comical and funny at times, blunt and outspoken at others, charming and kind on some occasions, and cold and quiet on others. His varying personality makes him something of an enigma and some have called him bipolar due to the fact that his personality or mannerism can change rather quickly, but this is not at all true, tis simply how he is. Axel is also very brave and rarely if ever backs down from a fight, sometime causing them. He is headstrong and will not hesitate to stand up for what he believes to be right, unless he seriously believe it to be in his best interests to do otherwise.
Bio/History: Axel died at the unfortunate age of 23. In life Axel was a teacher of a Dojo. He had recently built up enough savings to open up his own establishment and begin teaching in the ways of swordsmanship. All was well for several months, students poured in, their interest in how to handle a sword funding the dojo's growth. One day, as Axel was closing up, a small band of rather organized thugs showed up the dojo gates. After hearing of the dojo's rising success, they believed that it could mean an easy payday to rob Axel's dojo. What they hadn't counted on was for Axel overwhelm them using one his the swords he held inside the dojo. The robbery turned out to be terrible failure, the robbers losing their lives in the endeavor, and resulting number of souls that were made available drew Hollow.
As Axel made his way home, a Hollow sensed his presence, and with its hunger for souls not sated the Hollow followed him home. And as he drew near his house the Hollow struck and gravely injured Axel. Though Axel was one of the somewhat numerous people who could see spirits, due to him not noticing the Hollow sooner he was too late to react to the threat. And thus it was right then and there that his life in the physical world came to an end. Fortunately for him, before his soul could be consumed a shinigami appeared and did away with the fell beast and promptly performed the traditional soul burial. Axel, greatful to the shinigami who saved him and all other shinigami as well decided that he too would take up the mantle and join their ranks as a shinigami himself with the intentions of protecting those who needed his strength. Thus, as soon as he heard of the academy, he rushed to apply....
