Hrm. I have a hard time understanding a lot of this.. like, I get it but spiritually I don't.
I think it's because I reject Original Sin, the Trinity and Salvation to even begin with.
How so if you don't mind me asking? In my understanding Original Sin in Gnosticism is not the same as in mainstream Western Christianity. Our meaning of the word sin is how your people use the word
het. It's not a legal infraction that warrants punishment, its a relationship error.
In the mainstream Western view, man is separated from God because the Primordial Parents choose to be. Because of disobedience we were cast out
In the Gnostic view, man is separated from God because a flawed Creator designed the Primordial Parents to be. Because of disobedience we can reunite/become one with God.
The trinity is not necessary in Gnosticism. I just accept it as true because to me it explains how we are made in God's image. The gnostic God/Demiurge description also describes us in God's image as well.
Salvation to a gnostic just means that we are free of the separation.
Eh, Gnosticism isn't for everyone. Just wanted to show you how we view things.
Edit: Also most Gnostics do reject original sin. I see value in it to provide focus.
