XxXTemporary_IllusionXxX actually the first part is false christainity has hundreds of myths so tis not just polythiectic cultures that have them cool and not all myths were nation, empire etc wide, some were local ones that stayed that way while others spread
Ah, but many Christian myths stem from Pagan myths cool

so you admit that christianity is a mix of religions and beliefs? wow thats a first, someone actually saying that christian myths and legends have polythiestic roots or are just morphed versions
so would that not debase christianity, since they base their religion off those myths and legends, if there from pagan origins, then that destroys the jehovas witness's and it destroys christinaity plain flat out since they believe those things to be christian and have no roots if there just morphed storys, the bible is just another fairy tale book

Haha, your getting the wrong person to admit it! I'm agnostic, not any form of Christianity. That's one of the reasons WHY I am!
And actually, I know a bit more about Jehovah Witnesses then most people because my mom's side of the family are JWs. My mom used to be, raised into it, but broke away, thank god! (Irony xD)
They actually do not believe a lot of the things that other Christian religions do. Such as Easter or Christmas having anything to do with Christ- they don't celebrate them. Also, they don't believe in Hell. And, their quite colorblind. Don't get me wrong... these people are crazy homophobes etc, but give credit where credit is due! lol

I apologize, that sounded very misinofrmed and prejiduced on my part
anyway scratch the witness part but the rest is true, if they get there holidays and myths and legends from pagan origins then that destroys there religion basically, sense that means those storys are not real or are not what the bible says

That's alright, your point still stands. See, the thing is, you try telling a strong believer these things, and they dismiss it immediately. Religion, for the most part, is about blindly believing. You don't question the bible, you don't question the priests, and often, you don't even think about getting more informed about other religions.
This may not be the case in every, of course, but often times yes. I mean hey, JWs used to not let their members go to college because they might learn things! They let you now, but haven't for all that long. They think that even reading books such as Harry Potter or Eragon that contain magic, opens you up to be possessed by demons.
Not all are so extreme... but that pattern is seen all over the place.

hm i guess myth and religion both have lesson to be in their stories. religion has more meaning to an individual, however, ancient civilizations did follow pagan religion and the stories they told for spiritual support is now, in modern times, classified as myth. it's just an inference.
