"Aye, lass, an' you can borrow 'un, too," Rory said, getting up without Lee's aid, though he did take her hand. He started to head for the door, patting Lauss on the shoulder. "Let's go, boyo. Girl needs her privacy t' change clothes."

Lauss stumbled out of the hammock once more, trailing behind Rory obediently out the door, shutting it behind him.
Lee searched through the bag Rory's carried over, pulling out two of the shirts she'd packed inside -- one for her and one for Lauss. Draping one over the hammock for the essentic to wear in a bit, she started to change. Deciding Rory was right when he said his shirts looked like a dress on her, she'd leave her shorts off and just stick with the baggy top. Finished, she pushed the door open and walked outside, leaning against the vardo with a slight blush from how naked she felt outside with no bottoms on.

Rory looked up at her and smiled. "Hello, love. You gonna be alreet out here by your lonesome fae a little bit?" He walked up the steps, putting an arm around her waist, and kissed her gently. "Donnae let th' wisps carry you off while you're out here lookin' like a fae princes, yeah?"

Shaking her head with amusement, her blush only deepened, and Lee nudged Rory through the door. "Just go change..." Still smiling, Lee sat down on the steps, holding the shirt down and looking at her lap.
Lauss simply followed behind Rory, more than a bit confused as to why Lee seemed so happy today.

Rory picked up the shirt from the hammock and tossed it over to Lauss. "Here, lad. Put tha' on. I'll find you some pajama bottoms." He went over to the bag and dug around, then tossed Lauss a pair of pajama pants, getting a pair for himself as well. Not at all shy, Rory went ahead and began changing, pulling off his t-shirt and then shucking his jeans. He stepped into the pajama bottoms he'd picked for himself and pulled them on, then looked back at Lauss. "How you doin' there, lad?" Rory couldn't help feeling a bit sorry for the slow boy, wanting to share in Lee's responsibility for him.

Not quite catching either the shirt or the bottoms, Lauss fumbled with both for a while, slightly overwhelmed to have both articles of clothing to put on at once. He needed more practice in the clothes wearing field, that was for sure. It took a good minute for the essentic to tug off his jeans, and another minute of pulling off his shirt before he could starting tugging on his pajamas for the night. By the end, he took three times as long as Rory, but managed to dress himself with the only mistake being his backward shirt. Looking down at himself, a proud smile formed on his lips. He'd done a fine job, hadn't he? Eyes darting back up to Rory, he tilted his head at the tape around his ribs. "Mister Rory was injured?" The essentic pulled at his sleeve to reveal the wrapping around his wrist. "Me too."
Tilting her head up as she heard Lauss start to speak, Lee figured they were likely finished by now -- who took this long to get changed, anyway? Standing and sticking her head through the door, eyes closed shut just in case, she called out to the boys. "You two done?"

Rory just smiled at the boy good-naturedly. "Th' shirt's on backwards, lad." He helped Lauss get it turned around. "Aye, I wis hurt when th' horse threw me twice t'day. Just bruised me ribs, but th' doc thought tapin' 'em up would be good anyhow. What's wrong wi' you wrist?"
He headed to the door and peaked out. "Oi. lass. Th' fae ain't carried you away t' be their new queen, hae they?" He knelt down by Lee, kissing her cheek. "Your lad, Lauss. He's a wee touched in th' head, ain't he?"

Lauss watched as Rory helped him fix his shirt, not having been aware shirts had fronts and back. "Thank you..." Listening to Rory, the essentic decided he'd do best to stay away from horses. He wasn't prepared for any more injuries. "I believe I fractured my scaphoid; if not, I must have torn a ligament. Faolan and Miss Ellandra might take me to the doctor to fix it." He'd noticed since it had been wrapped it hurt less and less each day, but also became harder and harder to move. Seeing that Rory was going to get Lee, Lauss took it upon himself to crawl back into his hammock.
Giggling as Rory came to kneel beside her, she moved to start to get up until Rory made the comment about Lauss. Blinking a few times and tilting her head, making sure she understood what he meant, she eventually began shaking her head quickly, holing a hand up in protest. "H-he's not... No, he..." Trying to word her answer carefully, she started over. "Lauss is smarter than he acts. I know, it seems like he doesn't have a lot of sense, but he's still learning..."

"I didnae say he wis stupid, lass, just a wee touched in th' head. Kinda like Faolan. Th' man's sharp as a whip, but he donnae hae th' sense th' gods gave him sometimes," Rory explained, helping Lee up. "Come t' bed, me bonny girl."

"O-oh..." Lee bit her lip, embarrassed that she'd gotten so defensive over the essentic. "I'm sorry, I just... get protective... I guess..." It was becoming clear to her that Lauss wasn't just a tutor, but was somewhere along the lines of a little brother -- one that annoyed her to no end and who needed an endless amount of guidance, but who she felt closer to than any blood relatives she had. Standing and heading inside with Rory, she pulled the boy over to the bed and fell down onto it.
Lauss was already fast asleep, his book laying on his chest, rising and falling softly as he breathed in and out.

Rory scooted around so he was spooned behind Lee, his arm around her, nuzzling her hair. "You comfortable enough, girl?" he asked quietly, whispering in Lee's ear. He didn't stay awake long enough to hear her answer, though.
