((Characters created for Igen: pictures available when I get them certed up.))
Name: S'in (Formerly Salin)
Age: 29
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: Straight, but not uptight.
Craft: N/A
Rank: Brown Rider
Physical Description: One of the first things people might notice about S'in, at least in the company of his partner, is that he greatly resembles his dragon. Average sized, he's strong of build, though not to the point of standing out in any exceptional or superhuman way. His skin is darker than many, an rich chocolate color, though with the diversity of Pern, again, he's merely slightly surprising, and not entirely unheard of. His hair is only a shade or two darker than this, and worn in an thick mass of braid, whose on weight tends to keep them back. ((I dunno how well this would go over at Igen but it's how I see him wearing his hair. Not cornrows, more like Xaldin's 'Omghowlongdidthattakeyou' hair. Probably often washed or at least sanitized while braided.)) For flight purposes of course he ties it back with several thick cords to make it into an stiff rope down the back of his neck, with his hair already being too heavy or well treated with oil or some other substance to prevent infestation of pests, to risk fly-aways.
When not in his riding leathers, he demonstrates a certain degree of Vanity, wearing cloth of the best quality he can afford, and often in rich colors, which he knows very well stand out particularly on him. His other particular token to vanity is a pierced ear, with a gold hoop ring sporting an large black pearl he saved to get no small amount of time. His attatchment to the thing makes it the subject of jokes for some, saying something is likely to happen "When S'in gives up his earring."
He stays clean shaven simply because he finds wearing a beard too annoying, which he insists (not entirely truthfully) is the same reason for the length of his hair.
Personality: S'in likes to stand out, but maybe not -too- much. He's comfortable thinking of himself as a sort of 'power behind the throne', though he's equally certain that, if the need arise, he could be a very capable leader in his own right, it's just 'not necessary' to demonstrate this. Others should simply assume. He's an skilled observer, and tends to collect information, which would have made him an good runner if he were so inclined, though he's less inclined to travel than he is to hear stories of places, and enjoy their finer wares. While he's also capable of sharp banter, he tends to hold back until he's relatively certain he can either get a large crowd behind him, or can otherwise be certain of victory, considering any fight he's sure to loose a wasted effort, a battle that should be fought when people come around to 'reason'.
History: Born in the Weyr, S'in grew up with a fair degree of certainty that his place in the world was secure, and learned his political cunning watching others rise or fall, depending on how and when they chose their battles. He was less interested in the points they made than in weather they won or lost, and made a habit of observing people and learning how best to predict how they would react, to the extent that he sometimes has a bad tendency to temper his own morality based on weather or not he's likely to win. He worked hard, staying largely out of the way, but if someone happened to fit his own opinions, and also be popular, he became more likely to stand up in their support, and attempt to draw others to their cause with his own subtle charisma. He did not actually impress for several hatchings, which frustrated him considerably. Was he not good enough? Everything about the Weyr had taught him that to be Weyr born made you a far superior candidate for impression than an outsider, so why wasn't he succeeding?
When he finally did impress, it was an triumphant moment in his life, justifying everything he believed, and although he had no preference, he certainly will agree that his partner is probably the best possible match for him, and vice versa. Since then he's continued on his set path, not particularly caring if people call him a sycophant, since, in his mind, his skills will speak for themselves.
Pets: None
Other/Talents: S'in has a limited skill with beastcraft, not from apprenticing but from his younger days helping around the Weyr. While he's only likely to recognize problems that are mostly obvious, he's fairly good at keeping animals calm and not getting kicked by all but the most nervous of animals.

Brown Virth
Virth is all about keeping up appearances. Of course, the situation dictates the appearance the brown is trying to give. He's a very preceptive dragon and is exceptionally good at reading a crowd...well as far as a dragon is concerned. He's good enough to be able to get vague impressions of strange humans if they're near him; other dragons are much easier for him to read. Once he's got a general impression of the crowd, Virth starts his attemps to be one of the group.
It should be noted that Virth likes the be the best of every group. Exceptionally competitive, he's not above goading His if it gets him what he wants. The only values he cares about are those of the others around him, Virth has no values of his own. He's a social chameleon and he's actually a very difficult individual to read. Even His can have trouble with his motives. While usually innocent, the few times he uses his contacts to get anything, it basically goes unnoticed. Virth is all about social networking. It will get him and His somewhere, someday.
Flights are something Virth avoids; he doesn't want to be involved in the politics or the messy aftermath. Oh, he'll go if His asks him, but don't think he'll do anything out of the ordinary. Virth can be a very motivated dragon, but only when given the proper motivation. Of course, he and His are very similar and nature and while he usually gets along just fine with his rider, Virth gets downright ornery if he is contradicted or, even worse, his appearances are ruined.
While not particularly large for a brown, he is well proportioned. He’s built for stamina, but not so bulky he can’t maneuver. He’s a light sandy color, darkening around his eyes and his wings.
