Carmen twitched her feathered tail when the water got onto her fur, but she held her tongue from saying anything to the other young Nova. They had just agreed to stick together, and she didn't want to seem rude.. But she made sure to give him a little look as he came back towards her. Shaking the water out of her fur, she looked at him then down at the fish. "Nice catch." She said, trying to seem nice... even though the fish was actually kind of scrawny.

Oriel placed the fish on the ground for a second and looked at her. "Thanks! But this is nothing. I could catch a fish bigger than me!" He bragged, though...this was only the second fish he ever caught...and the first one was even tinier. She didn't know that though.
Once he was done talking, he lowered his head and bit the fish open to get to its meaty center. "So where should we go after this? Should we look for a den?" He asked, still picking at the meat.

Carmen looked up at the sky. It still wasn't that late at all... they could cover some ground before they settled. "I think we should head deeper into the forest." She said, and then defended herself... since the forest wasn't exactly a safe place. "I heard there's something cool in the deep part of the forest."

Oriel waved his tail in the air with interest. "Something cool?" Sounded like fun! He loved adventure. He never got any back home; that's why he left in the first place. "Let's go!"

Carmen felt satisfied. She had peaked the young male's interest. "Yeah, there's supposed to be this cave." She explained, trying to sound smart to impress him a little. "Full of crystals. And when the sun sets, it's supposed to glow rainbow colors!"
