Woo I'm in honor band! Started a few days ago and we have our next concert in 2 weeks! AH! I play flute and I'm the only 7th grader. What instrument do you play? What band? What chair? When is your next concert/performance/contest?

I'm on the High School Drumline, 3rd Bass.
Top band during concert season.
Percussion doesn't do chairs.
And our next performance is tomorrow for our first football game. :B

Our band calls the honor band the *Wind Ensemble*.
I'm the first chair Bassoon there. (:
Although it's the beginning of the Marching Band section and I'm playing the mello for marching.
We're really excited about our honor band this year, because we have some real strong players.
And our first performance in marching band will start... Next week,

Congratz!
I was in honor band last year as well as this year (I'm an 8th grader now).
If all goes well on our first chair test this week, I'll be 1st chair, since I was the top flutist in the school last year (not to be a braggart or anything...)
Do auditions count as performances? I'll be auditioning for Region Band in November. Also, our Honor Band goes down to one of the elementary schools on Veteran's Day and performs.

I was out of town on the auditions when I was in 7th grade crying
But I got 2nd chair to a girl in my band (grr) in wind ensemble as an 8th grader! We play Fhorn. WHOO!
You'll have a lot of fun, it's hard work, but it pays off in the end.

I don't even think there is an "honor band" where I live. There is an "all star band" that all of the school board auditions for. But its only grade 10-12. I couldn't last year but I'm in grade 10 this year, I'm excited. biggrin
And we haven't even had a rehearsal yet, the first one is Wednesday after school.
