Okay! We got a bunch of great answers from the first impulse that will really help us in defining some of the exercises we'll try down the road. But first, we've got another sort of warm-up post for you guys and gals.

This time we'd like to see your progress over the years. Take one or two of your images per year, or however you'd like to divide them up so that we can see your progression, and post them in chronological order!

Feel free to dig deep into your archives and find the oldest stuff you can. That we can really see how you've progressed. You can either combine them into one large vertical image, or post each separately.

Looking forward to your posts!

I keep wanting to put too many pictures into a single picture, so I think it's best if I just post one by one... The chronology probably will be bogus since I'm just guessing, but I'll try my best.

End of 2006:
I got my tablet around this time, so this is pretty much all I have to show for my art, since I never really had a scanner until recently.

2007:
Still getting using to photoshop by this time I think, but getting better. Still really into anime, but I can find other artists on the internet to look at besides relying on any manga I have around.

2008:
I think I took some art classes over the summer this (or last) year. I never really noticed how much of a difference it made until now. Started to actually pay attention to what I was doing and actively studied techniques and other artists.

Kirby's fire effect tutorial helped a lot.
:D

I think my "Gira-gira" thread [x] pretty much has the rest of 2008 and is more in depth than what else I would put up. I think past learning the basics, I've just been experimenting.

I also apologize for the white lines in some sections, don't have a webspace currently so I had to cut it into 6 sections and Gaia likes putting breaks between images. ;P

Well I guess this is my progress

http://fav.me/d30dxji

maybe it doesn't differ much, but there is significant change in technique and time taken to complete the illustration, the one on the left only took me a day at the office while the one on the right took me about a week.
