Anna-Maria shook her head not understanding with the girl meant. Then as she looked her over it's like the light went off in her head. Durh, she was a mermaid and of course she was talking about swimming.
"Oh, ah I don't know..." Anna-Maria was used to being in the air. Water was not something she was used to.

"I promise nothing bad will happen! I a natural-borne swimmer, after all!" Chae gave the demon girl a bright smile. She wasn't going to let a thing happen to Anna if she could prevent it; this girl was her friend, after all!

Anna-Maria looked at the Naiad girl warily. She really wasn't so sure by this idea. However, she loved having help in case the score was too big. That would present another problem with sharing, but that Anna would have to worry about when it happened.
"So, what do you want me to do?" She asked finally agreeing in very few words.

"Well, I can breath under water... so I could carry you on my dorsal side if it's alright with you. Then you'd be dry for the most part and we'd both get to our destination that much faster! What do you think?" Chae was completely clueless to Anna's thoughts and calculations.

"Okay, I guess it will work. As long as the map does get wet." The demon then walked over to the water. She wasn't sure what to do next so she waited for the Naiad to let her know.

Chae nearly jumped into that water, and the instant she was in it, her legs grew into fins. Bringing herself close to the shore, she pulled her hair off to the side to expose her back. "Go ahead and climb on!"

Anna-Maria nodded and slowly got on. This just didn't feel right. Maybe it was because she wasn't used to water or maybe riding on another pae just felt odd. Either way, she did it because getting there faster was nice.

Chae took off like a bullet, making sure to keep Anna above the water. She was certainly a fast swimmer, and the fact that she was going with the current made her even faster. She easily maneuvered herself around the occasional rock that was in her way, and within minutes, they were at the river's mouth. Gliding into the shallow waters, Chae waited for Anna to get off of her. "Here we are!"

Anna-Maria was shocked by the ride. It was slightly scary since it was fast and she wasn't used to riding on water in any form. Not until recently.
As they got to where they were going Anna-Maria got off and kissed the ground. "Oh, thank God for land!" She said.

Pulling herself up the shore, Chae got her legs back and stood up. She looked at Anna puzzled. "Oh... was I that bad of a swimmer...?"

"What? Oh I don't have any clue." Anna-Maria wasn't sure that was how it was always meant to be so Chae could be great for all she knew. The demon looked at her map. "Almost there. 50 paces that way." She pointed to the forest.

Dusting off the sand from her legs, Chae looked to where Anna was pointing. "Alright... you know what would be cool? A blinking dot on the map that told us where we were. That would be so nifty!"

Anna-Maria looked at the map and then to the Naiad. "I guess it would. If I knew how to draw that I would." She chuckled as it was an odd thing to think about, but it was also interesting.
The demon began to head in the direction that her map said. She was really hoping it would be the pirate treasure that she was looking for. If she found one more thing of shells and other junk she would scream. How could others find those things worth something?
