So the school year has just started, and though I do love being home, and thoroughly enjoy the sunshine of the Outback, I'm glad to be back at Hogwarts. One thing Australia just doesn't have is an abundance of magic folk. I don't know, mum and dad don't seem to mind being nearly 50 miles from the nearest witch or wizard, maybe I'm just being pretentious?
Anyways, we have a few new Professors this year. I know I sound nerdy, but I was pretty stoked to meet them. I guess I'm hoping to meet that one superior who will totally influence my goals in life. While I am having fun with the start of my fourth year, I can't help but feel a little apprehensive. My parents have been nagging on and on about getting serious and figuring out what I want to do after I leave Hogwarts. Hi, I'm only fourteen? Honestly, I can hardly make plans a week ahead of time, and the only aspirations I could ever have would involve goofing around, having a lifetime supply of pudding and maybe inventing something really cool. I guess that's not acceptable for the daughter of entrepreneurs.
Maybe I should correspond to Jude. I miss him...

Dear Jude, I couldn't wait any longer, and needed to write you something. I know it's only been a few days but come on, you can't blame me for missing my big brother! How is muggle school? Is that one subject really hard like you said? What was the name again? Caclius? How's the new school? I know you really liked your old school with your friends, but mum was right; you can't turn baseballs into tomatoes and not expect a fuss... Anyways, Hogwarts is fine. I wish you could be here. But I'll make sure to get plenty of sweets from Hogsmeade and maybe a joke or two at Zonko's. We can try them out on the neighbors again!
Write back soon okay? Or I'll turn Sydney into a pocketwatch! (Haha I just learned how to do that in Transfigurations)
Love, Laurie

Laurie, Haha, do you not have any friends or something? No schoolwork? Or are we really as close as you claim us to be? I dunno, maybe I don't want to know the truth. It might be too depressing. School's fine. And it's Calculus Laur, which is probably more difficult than Ancient Runes and Potions put together. I made a few friends but they're not as cool as my old ones. I don't understand why the ministry won't let me stay at my old school; everyone's memories were wiped clean of the baseball incident. It's really not my fault, it's not like I can help being magically impaired. I think things got blown out of proportion cause, y'know, my kind is like a freak of nature in the wizarding world... Mum and dad miss you. And they want to know if you've decided on a career choice yet. Oh, and they want me to remind you that O.W.L's are a year away, and it's never too early to start studying. Why don't you just say you'll take over the family business or something? That'll get them off your back. Well this letter has stretched too long. Get something that explodes from Zonko's; the Hendersons are really starting to piss me off.
Jude
P.S. I didn't write back because you threatened to transfigure my cat; I just happened to want to know how you were doing. Speaking of cats, how's Darnay? Sydney misses him a lot.

You know, the start of the school year was pretty optimistic, but now I'm as bored as ever. Things just seem to drag on and on and on and on and you get the idea. I mean, I've met some cool friends since the year started and learned a few interesting tricks, but is that all there is?
I need a new hobby...

Hey Jude, I'm going insane here. My blood is screaming at me. Adventure! Adventure! And there's not a thing I can do about it. Please distract me with something. Tell me you failed a test, or pranked the Hendersons; tell me anything! Save me!
Oh and tell mum and dad owning an news post really isn't my kind of thing for the LAST TIME love, Laurie
