I really don't think you should look or act like anyone other than yourself, in all honestly. Otherwise if you start dressing "punk" or dressing "goth", and you two start dating, and he finds out it was all a ploy to get him to date you, he might be pretty pissed. Kukushka said it best: Kukushka You should not fake who you are (or how you dress) to please a guy. Why? Because what if the two of you hit it off and get into a relationship. That relationship isn't between you and the guy, it's between the guy and this persona you've constructed for him. One day, you just won't have the energy to keep it up and your boyfriend is going to either realize that you've been lying to him all this time or believe that you are suddenly changing because you don't like him anymore or whatever. Imagine how confused you would be if you were with this guy who loved hulahoops. And you love hulahoops too! So the two of you go out and hulahoop all the time. THen one day, he doesn't "feel" like going. ANd it's the same the next day and the next and the next. After a while, you find out that he doesn't actually like hulahoops. Replace hulahoops with something you really like and think about how you would feel. The best advice you will ever get is "just be yourself." That way, if a guy falls in love with you, he is falling in love with YOU. So if you don't like wearing skirts, don't wear them just for him. If you are normally really gassy, don't hold it in just because you are around him. Present you in as true a form as you can. In my opinion, if he doesn't like you for who you are, then he's not worth dating. End of story.

If i were you I would try to "be-friend" him xD Like turn out as really good friends. And send some hints that you like him, and see if his brain takes it(Boy's regulary aint so good at that)
And one day, just say it.. Face to face, sms, chat, whatever smile
It may break your heart, but at least you know if it would happen or not. Aslo, if he cares about you in the friendly way, but don't love you back, he would keep his mouth shut, I don't think he would go around telling everyone about it. I guess your friendship would still be there, maybe just not so strong as before. It's a bit akward..
I've been through about the same thing.. It was a bit different though.. I told him, he got a shock, and he is like kind-forevermore and said sorry that he couldn't return the feelings ect. and said that he will never tell anyone or such. Before I logged off(did it over msn) he asked if we still are good friends smile And i said yes.. Now we're bestfriends.. It's just.. Different from guy/girl to guy/girl.. But it's worth a try, I mean, I doubt I could be happier smile

I'm changing my mind (slightly) because he was bugging my short guy friend (the guy I like is WAY taller than my other friend) asking him if he could have his candy cane even though the short one said no. So he got pissed I guess and started to push him/all over him (not in a perv way stare well becoming rough on my short friend) hey I'm short too, so anyways my other friend thats a girl told him to stop but he threaten her she was gonna make her get jumped by a girl (she got in a fight last year with a girl who hes gonna call to get in another fight with the same girl) so that really pissed me off. nobody messes with my coolest buddy evil I even told him if anyones bugging him I'll beat them up for him. I really hate it when that happens evil
