The back story is no doubt typical of any story with conflicting groups. There will always be members who fall in the middle. I would have liked to have seen them get more play and to have had them develop more intrigue as to what this power house had been doing but apparently it was more important for Katara to whine about this and that than it was for more world development. Honestly I loved her for the first 2 seasons then after that she just became the source for all the filler and ridiculous plot ever. Even watching the show with my mother she constantly screams at the tv. "Stupid Girl"... Then again she pinned down Zuko's over riding ambition and psychology in a nutshell within the first 4 episodes so... ... ...
